Station Summary:
Most rooms inside a typical fire station fall into Business (B) with some Low Hazard Storage spaces
(S-2) , Dormitory/Accessory (R-2) and Vehicle Garage & Storage (S-1) . This project contains Fire
Administrative Offices, Apparatus Room with Support Spaces as well as Mechanical, Electrical & IT
Rooms on the first floor and eight Firefighter Rooms as well as a Day Room, Kitchen, Dining Room
and a Fitness Room on the second floor. When choosing not to separate a Mixed Use building the
most restrictive occupancy shall be applied when determining the allowable Height and Area and Fire
Protection requirements. Business is more restrictive than Residential and Low Hazard Storage
occupancies. Individual spaces still must comply with all other provisions of the Code based on their
actual occupancy type.
