II feel compelled to write you as It was my original intent to rehab the property over time but I was advised by builders t that cost for repairstrenovations would not be financially sound given the amount of work the property required and its questionable structural condition. I Spring 2017, 1 listed the home on the market hoping to attract a handy buyer interested in ,purchasing a property in North Andover that required repair as an entry into the town. Initial asking price was $320,000 which the market rejected with lower offers and the price was decreased. There were many showings as buyers were interested in the asking price range. However, the same response carne over and over again after each showing..."the house needs too much work." The property has several additions that were not built during a time of code requirements. The barn is on dirt and sagging. The workshop is not insulated and the barn is pulling the workshop out of alignment. The kitchen and bathroom are additions on a crawl space that is spongy and questionable.. The kitchen has a fiat roof that is not conducive to New England winters. The pipes for the kitchen and bathroom run under the unheated crawl space and require careful attention in cold weather. The entire home is poorly Insulated. There is no heat source for the second floor. I have mixed asbestos siding and the house sits just an arm's length away from the neighboring multi-family.. The home has no historical value that I am aware of. II spoke with an elderly neighbor who has resided in the area for far longer than I, and she stated there is no legend of any historical I significance at 197 High St. or immediate neighboring homes. Several specialists in barn restoration who looked at restoration sawn 'no significant historic or architecturalvalue in the structure or timbers of the barn."As a result of all of this, it seems that the structures should best be demolished. We have loved the convenience of the location and our neighbors included condos, two families and businesses that have lived side by side for many years_ I respectfully request your support in the proposed demolition, Thank you for your time and attention. I can be reached at 978-273-7918 if you have any questions. 1 Best regards, Dawn Cresciteill i f I 1 I
