• Present: Derek Wessell, Dave Johns, Steve Vetere,Terry Holland, Rick Green, Chuck Grey, Scott
Young,Tim Willet, Rick Gorman. Absent: Dave Brown
1. Introduction and presentation to Dr.Jen Price, Superintendent of Schools
• Reviewed present relationship with school department. Dr. Price vowed to continue support the
relationship between FC and school department
• Dr. Price discussed preliminary plans to see if North Andover would like to participate in a town
wide concussion assessment/study. Dr. Price invited committee members to attend a info
meeting in December
• Lengthy discussion of long range planning for the middle school projects. Dr. Price thinks the
concept is outstanding and needed
2. All league reps submitted fall DPW needs to Tim Willet
3. Rick Green and Tim Willet gave final reports to the committee on Dale Street field and McEvoy
field projects. We are very excited with how both projects have turned out. We have a couple of
minor punch list items left but a great big thanks to all on this committee for the work over the
last number of years on these two projects
4. Terry Holland updated committee on Community Preservation Committee.
5. Weather cancelations policy is as follows. Rick Gorman will make call by 3pm on bad weather
days and reps will work with their commissioners, coaches on notification. We just need to
tweak a few things around timely notification
6. New England School of Law—Mike Coyne granted field request for McEvoy Field Sunday
October 18th 11 am for softball
7. All minutes of fields committee meetings will now be posted on Town website and NAYRS
website
8. Derek Wessell gave a report on successful Columbus Day Soccer Tourney. Congrats NASA on
another great event
9. No issues with fall 2015 field requests
10. Chuck Grey reported on a great event where young football players played at halftime of varsity
football game.Thank You Chuck and Scott Young
11. Rick Green and Derek Wessell discussed 1600 Osgood Street fields and time lines on possible
effects on our use. Very preliminary but both Baseball and Soccer would like to do some work
down there so Rick will meet with Ozzy properties and update committee
12. Rick Green, Rick Gorman and Terry Holland will meet with Bruce Thibodeau &Tim Willet in
November as part of our DPW/ FC communication subcommittee
