GELINAS REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER REGISTERED LAND SURVEYOR July 2, 1979 NORTH ANDOVER OFFICE PARK 451 ANDOVER STREET NORTH ANDOVER, MASS. 01845 Mr. Benjamin C. Osgood TELEPHONE 687-1483 451 Andover Street North Andover, MA 01845 Re: Lots 54 and 55, Moody Street, North Andover Dear Mr.Osgood: At your request, I have reviewed the drainage characteristics of the above referenced lots with respect to your proposed construction of two dwellings . Reference is hereby made to the Camp, Dresser, and McKee report for the town of North Andover, Massachusetts on storm drainage facilities dated May 1967. In that report it was noted and recommended to the Town of North Andover that a 2411 drain would be installed from Colgate Drive to Moody Street thence new drainage on Moody Street would be built easterly to Prescott Street thence southerly on Prescott Street to the existing Swain Brook. It has been noted that none of these improvements have been made, and that obviously the Camp, Dresser and McKee report recognized that a 2411 drain was required to drain the Colgate Drive area which is directly north of lots 54 and 55. The run-off which requires a 2411 drain pipe is not created by the lot 54 and 55 characteristics but as a result of the water shed directly north of these lots. It is my recommendation that a 1211 pipe be installed along the existing drain easement and to the existing 1211 pipe at Moody Street. In addition to the 1211 pipe I recommend that a Swale be created at contour 102 directly over the proposed pipe to Moody Street at elevation 100 such that during times of infrequent storms the additional capacity for run-off required will be accomodated by the Swale which will bring the overland flow of water onto Moody Street into the existing drainage pattern. In addition to this, I recommend that you notify the Town of North Andover that in granting the easement from Colgate Drive to Moody Street you will receive a timetable for the town improvements .
