RE: 5'rl Appleton Street, North Andover, MA
Dear Mr, Daley,
I am writing this letter on behalf of David Bradbury and Gayle Dawson. It is my
understanding fl s, one that
n the above
the home referenced ' x 14)and one on the right hand side of the
addition's, one t
home (24.5'x 28').
The proposal in the rear is more of a replace in kind construction. The room is currently
supportad by Sono tubes and to make the home more structurally sound, the sono
tubes will be replaced by a foundation. The footprint will not expand. Access to this
area is !straightforward; on the grass. De-watering can be achieved in a de-watering pit
(double staked hay bales placed in a circle of crushed stone) in an upland area should
it be necessary. The other addition is a garage proposal. This area is currently
pavement and will be replaced with a garage. The garage dimensions will actually be
less they size of the existing pavement, therefore, the excess pavement will be removed
and a crass strip will be planted in Its place. This means the project, as a whole will
have less impervious area than what currently exists today. Only one mature tree will
have to be removed. A blue spruce will be cut prior to construction activities. The
ranch style home will be converted into a colonial and a second floor will be
constructed, but will not exceed the footprint (with the exceptions i the the prop proposed garage
which will be constructed on existing pavement). This property is
Lake C ochichewick and is subject to the Planning Board's Watershed Bylaw. The
homeowners respectfully hereby request to not be required to file for a Watershed
Special Permit, as it is my professional
the wetland or drinking will

impact the surrounding
The subject property is adjacent to the New England Power Company easement. The
wetland system under the power lines is not directly connected to Lake Cochichewick. I
flagged the wetland edge on July 6. The edge was delineated as A1-A3. The rear
proposal is approximately 67' from the closest wetland flag (A3). The garage proposal
is approximately 103'from the wetland. It is anticipated that if the project proceeds as
planned, it will not have a negative impact on the adjacent wetland, Lake Cochichewick
or it's watershed.
I would suggest installing double-staked hay bales in a semi circle separating the work
from tie wetland area as a precaution, thus defining the limit of work on the left hand
side of the home.
This project is very unique, will have no adverse effect on the wetland environment and
actually has less impervious surface when completed. As a result, it is my opinion that
this will yield a positive outcome.
