EXECUTIVE SESSION: The Executive Session convened at 6 :00 p.m.
ATTENDANCE: The following were present: Rosemary Smedile, Chairman; James Xenakis;
Wendy Wakeman; Donald Stewart; Mark J.T. Caggiano; Mark Rees, Town Manager; Ray Santilli,
Assistant Town Manager, Attorney Thomas Urbelis, Chief William Dolan, and Robert Nicetta.
The Board of Selectmen was individually polled and each voted to move into Executive Session.
Wendy Wakeman, yes; Donald Stewart, yes; Mark Caggiano, yes; James Xenakis, yes; Rosemary
Smedile, yes. Vote approved 5-0.
Wendy Wakeman made a MOTION, seconded by Mark Caggiano, to move into Executive Session.
Vote approved 5-0.
Campion Hall.
Chief William Dolan gave an updated report on his inspection of Campion Hall. Most of the
required work in the main house had been completed except for a few items. The Carriage House
work is scheduled for completion by Monday, May 19, 2003. The Fire Department will acquire the
signage in accordance with 527 CMR 10:13. These signs would be secured to the peaks of both
the main building and the carriage house so that they are visible from the street to incoming fire
units.
Bob Nicetta said that he had a definite commitment for removing the chimneys on Monday, May 19,
2003. After his inspection of the property, he would also ask that the retaining wall, which, is
severely damaged between the building and garage, be removed.
Town Counsel Thomas Urbelis recommended that the Town give the owner another week in
completing the required work and not to pursue going back to court at this time.
Wendy Wakeman made a MOTION, seconded by Mark Caggiano, to take NO ACTION at this time.
After discussion, Wendy Wakeman WITHDREW the MOTION.
Mark Caggiano made a MOTION, seconded by Wendy Wakeman, to send a letter stating that
substantial completion of required work would be done in one week by May 19, 2003. Vote
approved 4-1. Wendy Wakeman opposed.
ADJOURNMENT:
Wendy Wakeman made a MOTION, seconded by James Xenakis, to move out of Executive
Session. Vote approved 5-0.
