NORTH ANDOVER HISTORICAL COMMISSION
Minutes from meeting held May 9,2016

I. MINUTES- The Minutes from the April NAHC meeting were unanimously accepted as
read
II.OLD BURYING GROUND -PROJECT COMPLETION
A. Completion date is scheduled for the summer of 2016
B,Kathy explained that some fragments will still exist . She asked for ideas about where
to store these fragments. Jim suggested that Ridgewood may have storage facilities.
Carol suggested asking the Town for ideas. Kathy said she will speak to Joyce
Bradshaw, Town Clerk, before the next Commission meeting.
C. Ideas for the celebration of the completion of the OBG Preservation Project
1.Commission members discussed a date and decided that LATE SPRING IN
2017 will be when a celebration of the completion of this important historic
preservation project will be held.
2.The Commission discussed specific tasks to be accomplished before the spring of
2017.
a} Ideas for replacing the missing gate....Jim Wefers has been researching that
topic.
b) Rubbing Replicas...everyone agreed to research this possibility further. Kathy
and Anne said they would contact the local 3D model maker...Maker Mill.
c) Carol suggested having a permanent informational chart/brochure for the OBG
to replace the current paper brochures. Carol and Anne will research that topic.
d) Anne agreed to work on ideas for publicity and information for the OBG
Celebration
e) A possible permanent plaque was also discussed

D .BURYING GROUND TWO. - Kathy mentioned that a representative of the North
Parish Church had mentioned again to her the possibility of the Town taking ownership
of Burying Ground Two. This subject was discussed briefly.Members agreed that this
was not a project the Commission endorsed
III.TOWN MEETING/CPA PROJECTS - C.J. mentioned that at Town Meeting one other
CPA possible project is on the Warrant -the purchase of Dr. Atkins land on Milk Street.
Town Meeting will be held this week.
IV. THE BRADSTREET SCHOOL GRANITE MARKERS. Carol brought up the
Bradstreet Markers which had been saved from the school demolition as a way to
memorialize the Bradstreet School. At present the markers are stored at the Middle
School. Anne offered to try to find out if there was a plan for the future placement of
these markers.
V. OLD BUSINESS...SOLAR PANELS- Kathy brought the Commission up-to-date on
the issue of Solar Panels at the North Parish Church. -The church has removed their
appeal request and has for a new meeting with the Old Center Historic District
Commission.
THE NEXT MEETING OF THE NORTH ANDOVER HISTORICAL
COMMISSION WILL BE HELD MONDAY, JUNE 13,2016 AT 7PM AT THE SENIOR
CENTER.
