A design check for the subject residence was done on the xisting roofing and framing systems for the installation of solar
panels over the roof From a field inspection of the ro rt ,the existing roof support structur s nre,observed as,follows.,'
The roof structure f(Roof A)consists of composition,shingle n r nf' Il w old'that is supported by nominal rafters,
1 "o„ ., palredwith nominal 2x8 ceiling joists @ 16"o.c..,The rafters have max projected horizontal span of '-0",with a slope
f 30 degrees.,The rafters are connected at the ridge to continuous 2 12 ridge hoard and are supported at the eave by a load
hearing wall. There are 2x4 collar ties @ 32" W .for structural stability.There arle 2x4 vertical struts to,provide extra bracing to,
the rafters at " . ..
The existing roof framing system of(Roof A),is judged to be decl uat to withstand the loading imposed by the instaa'll tion of
the solar panels. No reinforcement is necessary.
The spacing of the solar standoffs shloo,lid be kept at " .c.,with a staggered pattern to ensure proper distribution of loads,
i further certify that all applicable loads r q uir dl the codes and design criteria list+ d bel w were applied to the nir�a
Solarmount solar roll system and analyzed. Furthermore,the inst 111 ati n crews have been thoroughly trained to instal]the solar
panels based n the specific roof install'at'i n i'nstructions developed by Unirac Sol rrno nt for the racking ing system and Elcofastein
fir the roof connections. Finally, i accept the certifications indicated by the solar panel manufacturer for thle ability of the
panels,to withstand high wind and snow loads.
