After considerable discussion it was vo~ed that this matter be
left with the~electmen to negotiate with the Lawrence Gas and Electric
~mpany to ascertain if this highway can be lighted for a reasonable
amount, and if so , ~he Selectmen are ~o proceed to include this
highway in the lighting con~ract~
.Article Fifty-two.
Voted to i~struct the Selectmen as officers having charge of ~he
laying out of highways, in conjunction with the Co~aittee on Roads,to
petition the County Commis~ioners,under chapter 289,of She Acts of 1~92~
for relief from the obligation 0f keeping all or any part cf said ways
in repair. This is ~he alternative of requests made in petition.

Voted that ~he Moderator appoint ~ comaittee of three to act
as a municipal garage and town sheds committee.
Voted that the Moderator appoint ~ committee of two men qualified
to make a comprehensive study of the needs of the various Town
Dep~rtments relative to the employment of additional clerical
assistants. This committee to report at next annual meeting.
Voted that the co~mmittee on streets to work in conjunction
with the Highway Surveyor be continued.
On Motion of Mr. Eunhardt a vote of thanks was extended to
the Moderator, the Advisory Board an~ to the Committee on Streets,
for their services to the tovm.
Voted: That the compensation of the School Physician be in
the form of fees based upon services, paid out of the general
appropriation for schools, as hitherto h~s been the custom, at a
rat~ not in excess ofthose paid in t~e year nineteen hundred and
twenty-eight; and that the School Committee m~y in their ~iscr~ion
~ppoin~ any competent physicimn whether a member of the Committee
or not, under provision of Section ~-A, of Chapter ~1 of the
General La~Ts.
