Article Four.

In the name of the Co~mnnwealth of Massachusetts, you are
hereby directed to notify and warn the inhabitants of the Town of
An&over, qualified to vote 'in elections and town affairs to meet in
the Engine Souse in precinct one, the Merrimack P~rtable Schoolhouse
in voting precinct two, the Union Schoolhouse in voting precinct three
and the Tovm Hall in voting precinct fou~, in said North Andove~,
~n Monday ~he Sixth day of Notch k955, am nine o'clock in the forenoon,
~hen'and ~here to act upon the following articles:-
Article 1. To elect a Moderator, a Town glerk, a Town
Treasumer, three Selectmen~ e~ee members of the Bga=d of Public
~elfarefor one yea=; cae member of the School Committee, one member of
the Board of Health, one Assessor of ~axes,.one member of the Board of'
Public Works for three years, a Highway Surveyor, a $olleotor of Taxes,,
an Auditor, a Tree Warden and five Oonstables for one year,and any and
all Town0fficers required by law to be elected by ballot.
.All to be voted for on one ballot. The polls shall be
opened ~t nine o'clock A. E. and shall be closed'at eight o'clock P.E.
After final action on the preceding article one, the said
meeting sh~ll stand adjourned by ~irtue of Section &, Article l, of
the Town By-Laws, to Saturday'~arch 18, 1955, at 1:30 o,clock P.E.,in
the Town Hall, then and there to act upon the following articles:~
Article 2. To elect all other officers not required by law
~o be elected by ballot.

Article 5. To see if the town will vote to accept the report
of the receipt~ and expenditures as presented by~ the Selectmen and
Auditor~
Article &. To see what action the town will take as to its
unexpended appropriations.

recom=endations of the Finance Committee.
Article S. To see if the town will vote to authorize the
Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money in
anticipation of the revenue of the current financial year.

Article S. To see if the town wili vote to accept, the School
~ommittee's recommendation that the Pond School property, be disposed
of by the Town as there seems to be little probability that it will

the sum of eight thousand five hundred(S8500.00) dollars, for the ·
p~rchase of a~ddeu: ~ruck for the Fire Departmsnt of this town and
appoint a committee for the purchase of the same, as reco~e~ded
by thc committee appointed at the. last Annual Town Eeeting.
~t~ticle 10~ To see if the town will vote to accept~a~ gift from
the teachers, supervisory staff and other employeas of the School
Depar%men~ a portion or all of a sm=of money created by the deduction
of either six percent or =eh percent monthly of their salar~ payments
in 1935, which sum in twelve months would probably total between
five thousand and nine thousand dollars, and'which sum if accepted by'
the ~own as a gift could be used in meeting current appropriations of
the ~own.

appropriate the sm= of si~hundred and thirty-four
dollars, for an automobile for the Police Department.
