Voted that the To~n Treasurer~ with ~he approval of the Selectmen~ be-and hereby is authorized to borrow money from time to time in anticipaticn of the revenue of ~he financial year beginning ~anuary l~ 19~7~ and to izsue a note or notes therefor~payable within one year~ and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Bection l?~ Chapter ~eneral'Laws.. The vote was unanimous and. so declared~ Article 7. ~o reports. Article 8. Voted: That the ~oard of Public Works be a c9mmi~tee to care for the Public Parks and Tri~les. Article 9. Voted to refer the ma~er ~o ~he Board of Selectmen for disposition. Article !0. Voted to postpone action relative ~o authorizing ~he Selectmen to appoint a Town Accountant. Article 11. A motion was made to increase this appropriation ~o $600.00. A hand vote ~aken showed that 90 were in favor and 102 were opposed. It was voted to raise and apprcpriate ~he s~n of one hundred twenty-five dollars to erect suit~ole markers ~o con~era~e Captain Thomas J. Milnes and Joseph P. McDonough.and that the Selectmen be empowered to allot squares~ triangles or parks for ~,he erection of these markers. Article 12. It was voted to accept this offer and that a committee be appointed by,he Moderator to consis~ of ~he Trustee, the Supt. cf the Board of Public ?~crks and one member from the Board of Oelecmmen. The Noderator appcinted Rev. Clinton W. Carvell,Trus~ee~ Wi!li~nn B. Duffy~Supt. Board of P~olic Works and Frank Hilton, a member from ~he Board of Selectmen. Article l~. It was ~oted to raise and appropriate the sum of one thousand dollars for ~he purposes of Article 12. Article 14. This article is cared for under i~em 62 of Art. Article 1%. Voted ~o postpone ~ction on ~his question for another year. ~rticle 16. Voted to use unexpended appropriation of ~ix hundred dollars,under article 28~ of the 19~6 warrant together wi~h the trade in value of old car and such other sums as may be nessary ~o carry out the provisions of this request be taken from appropriations made for maintenonce snd construction of water works and maintenance and construcZion sewer department. Article 17. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of eight hundred dollars tolpurchase a~ new car for the Board of health ~epartmen~. Article 18. Voted to appropriate from receipts ~f 19~6~ the sum of four thousand five hundred seventy-nine dollars and ninety- four cents~the amount received from the.City of Lawrence as water rates to make necessary repairs to the reservoir constructed in 1898 and to make necessary repairs and improvements at the Pumping Station. Article 27. Voted to raise and apprcpriate Lhe sum of two thousand five hundred dollars for materials and servicesto ~e used in cor~tructing sewers and' manholes on Commonwealth Avenue~ Hodges~ Belmont~argent ~ilton and Third Streets~Richardson Avenue, L~nan~ Perley~ Buckingham~Chapin, Young and Little Rosds with ~he assistcnce of the Works Progress Administration or other such Federal Agency. Article 28. Voted to raise and apprcpriate the sum of one thousand one hundred dollars to place a six inch water, main in YOung Road from Herrick to Lym~ Road provided a satisfactory guarantee to pay'$% of the cost of construction for a Period of ten years~ is made with the Boara of Public %Yorks. Article 29. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of one hundred fifty dollars to extend water main on~Lyman Road 7~ feet starting at a point where it now enters the residence of Jsmgs McCormish:provided that a ~% guars~tee on 'the cost of construction is given for a period of ten years. 425 Adjourned Annual ~eeting~nrch l~ 19~7. Article 30.Voted to postpone until ~he street has been accepted by the Board of Survey. Article 31.Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of six hundred dollars to extend the water main from Herrick Road to Lyman Road by way known as Little Road, a distance of 2~9 feet,with the understanding that the petitioner will furnish a satisfactory guarantee to pay 4% of the cos% annuslly for a period of ~en years. Article 32.Voted to raise and appropri~ze ~he sum cf eight hundred dollars to lay a six inch water main in Dewey Street for a distance of three hundred fifty feet star~ing at Railroad Avenue, provided that the petitioner will furnish a smtisfactoryguaranmee to pay 4% of the cost annually for a period of ten years. Voted to accep~ Herrick Road as a public way,from its intersection with Massachusetts Avenue to its intersection with Middlesex Street. Article $3. Voted to accept part' of Chapin Road from the residence of Willism Tsylor to Middlesex Street,when pu~ in proper shape and condition to be accepta01e to the Board of Selectmen and Board of Survey.
