Voted to raise and appropriate the sum 6f five thousand dollars for snow removal. Article 2. Voted: that the Town Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, be and hereby is authorized to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financ~ial year beginning January 1, 1940, and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable within one year; and to renew any note or notes as may be given for a period of less than one year in accordance with Section 17, Chapter 44, General Laws. Greetings:- In the name Of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, you are hereby directed to notify and warn the~inhabitants of North Andover, qualified to vote in To~m Affairs, to meet in the Court Room, ToMm Building, in said North Andover, on Monday, the ninth day of October 1939, at seven thirty o'clock Pj-M. then ~nd~-there to act on the following business: . 'Article 1. To see if the tovm will vote to.appropriate the sum of five thousand ($6000.00) dollars, for snow removal, and to provide for the appropriation-by a transfer from surplus revenue. Article 2. To see if the town will v~te to appropriate the sum of one thousand five hundred sixty-three dollars and eighty-one cents ($1863.81), to provide the tmm with the following facilities : ' A modern automatic inhalator, resuscitator. Au adult size oxygen tent. Au adult size invalid wheel chair. A headstone memorial marker for the Veterans, lot' at Ridgewood Cemetery. To provide for the purchase of a suitable burial lot, size eighteen by twenty feet, at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, as a burial place and memorial to the Catholic Veterans of the town, and to place four boundary'markers and memorial marker for same. ~ne purchase of this lot to include perpetual care. '~ That t~e residue of this sum, if any, be transferred to the American Legion Bathing Beach appropriation, to be.used to improve facilities there. That a committee be appointed by the Selectmen to carry out hhis program. This sum of money to be expended from the Surplus War Bonus Fund of 192,, so called. Article 3. To see if the tovm will vote to appropriate the sum of eight thousand slx hundred thirty-one ($8631.00) dollars, for the continuation of ~. P. A. activities, and to provide for the appropriation by a transfer from surplus revenue. At a legal meeting of the inhabitants of the Town of North Andover, convened in the Court Room , ToWn0ffice Building, agreeably to the requirements of the foregoing warrant, business was transacted as follows:~ The meeting was called to order at 7:30 o'clock P. M. by the Moderator C.~ J. Mahoney. Over one hundred citizens were present. The Court Room proved to be too small to conduct a meeting with that number of citizens and some were obliged to stand in the corridor. After a short discussion and on motion of Joseph V. Flanagan, it was voted by those present'to adjourn the meeting one full week and that the adjourned meeting be held at the Town Hall, at 7:50 o'clock P. M. on Monday October 16th. The adjourned meeting was called to order at 7:30 o'clock P. ~.~. ~by the Moderator Judge Mahoney.
