558 1942 · 1942 Adjourned To~,m Neeting March 28~ 1942. The motion as presented was voted substantially, in 'the affirmative. Nr. Coste~lo preceded as follows: It now becomes necessary to find out whether it is meeting that all town employees shall share in the I offer the following motion: the sense of the raise, therefore That all town employees, including elected officials and part-time workers, shell share in the increase. Under item ~6, it was Voted that the School Committee be authorized to, appoint one of its members as School Physician ~and that his salary be fixed at $556.00, this amoun= no be taken from appropriation made for this department. Article ~5, was declared automatically ou~ of the war~ant. 'Art. 16 Voted: that the ~own appropriate for the same purpose, the ~unexpended balance of.six hundred ninety-nine dollars and forty thee cents(S699.43) appropriated under Art. 22 of the 19~l warrant to replace the water services to the property lines,place gate valves on hydrant branches, repair valves and valve boxes and replace manhole frames and covers, on Main Street from Sutton Street to Water Street before the street is reconstructed. Art. 17 It was voted not to make this purchase at the present time. Adjourned Town Meeting March 28, 19~ Article 18. Voted that the town raise and appropriate the 1942 stem of two thousand two hundred ($2200.00)dollars, to be used with the present 1926 compressor and 195) truck to purchase a new 105 cubic foot air compressor and a 1-~ ton truck for mounting the compressor. Articl~.lg. Voted to raise ~nd appropriate th~ sum of four hundred dollars ($400.00),.to purchase a'new Police C~uiser. Article 20. Voted that the town raise and appropriate thc sum of nine thousand ($9000.00)dollars, to purchase a new seven hundred and fifty~'ga!lon pump and combination truck to replace the old pump and combination truck now in use, and the proceeds received from the old truck to be paid over to the Town Treasurer; the said pump and combination truck to be purchased by the Selectmen with the approval of the committee originally appointed by the Committee on Public Safety to investigate the needs of the Fire Department. Article 21. Voted to strike from the warrant. Article 22. Article 24. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of ~wo thousand two hundred ($2200.00)$ollars, to extend the sewer system on Mass. Avenue from the present terminus 700 fee~ ~o Hemlock Street. Arti'cle 25. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of on~ thousand 'three hundred($1~00.00) dollars, to extend the sewwer system on Beech Street, 500 feet from Massachusetts Avenue. Article 26. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of one thousand six hundred ($1600.00)dollars, ~o extend the sewer on Hemlock street, 570 feet from Massachusetts Avenue. Article 27. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of three thousand seven hundred($5700.00)dollars, ~o extend the sewer on Moody Street from Furber Avenue to a point 500 feet from Chadwick Street. Article 28. Voted to raise and appropriate ~he sum of four hundred ($400.00) dollars, =o extend the sewer system in Trinity Court from Massachusetts Avenue to the.residence of Arthur Massey. Article 29. Voted unfavorable action, as the Highway Surveyor has agreed to take such action as he deems necessary ~o take care of the situation. Article ~0. Voted to strike from ~he warrant. Article ~. ~Voted ~o raise and appropriate the sum of one ~housand two hundred ($1200.00) dollars, for the purchase of a side-walk tractor for the use of the Highway Department. The total cos~ of the tractor being twenty-two hundred(S2200.00) dollars, but one thousand dollars will be paid for rental on the tractor which will reduce the cost to twelve hundred dollars. Article 52. Voted ~o raise and approp~iate~the sum of two thousand ($2000.00) 'dollars, for maintenance on any street in town uudcr Chapter 90, of the General Laws, said money to 'be used in conjunction with any money which may be allotted by the Stm~e or County,or both, for this purpose. 562 Ad~xrned Town Neetin$__~arch 28 19~2. Article 35. ~oted to reappropriate the sum of six thousand six hundred £ifgy dollars and twenty-five cents(~$6650.25), the un- expended balance voted under Article 51, of the 19~l, warrant for the rebuilding of Main Street under Chapter 9©, of the General Laws, said money to be used in conjunction with any money which may be allotted by the State or County, or both,for this purpose. Voted ~o raise and appropriate the sum of seven thousand ($7000.00) dollars, ~o be expended by the North Andover Committee on Public Safety, with the approval of the Beard of.Selectmen, for the preservation of health and protection of persons and property in. the ~own; for the purchase of equipmen: and materials, uniforms and supplies; to provide for the training of its citizens in matters essential to civilian defence, and for any other purpose authorized by Chapter ~87, of the Acts of 19~l. Article ~8. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of one hundred fifty($150.00)dollars for the upkeep of the Centre Plnyground. Article ~. Voted to raise and appropriate for the Schooi Department the sum of six hundred fifty-one($651.O01dollars, for the purpose of providing git raid refuge rooms for pupils and for air raid pro:ection of pupils and school buildings and for equipping certain rooms for blackouts. Article 50. It was vo~ed no~ to accept chapter ~8 as amended by Section 58A, pertaining to ~he hours of permanen: firemen. Article 51.
