Voted that the Town authorize the Town Treasurer with the approval of the Selectmen, to borrow money from time to time in anticipation of the revenue of the financial'year beginning January l, 19~9.and to issue a note or notes therefor, payable wi thin one year, and to renew any note or notes as maybe given fora period of leas than one year in accordance with Section 17, Chapter ~, General Laws. The vote was unanimous and declared. Article 7- The reports of the Veteran's Housing Committee, the Committee for re-vision of Town By-Laws are to be found in Town Report. Article 8. No action necessary. By action at 19~7~Town Meeting The Board of Public Works was constituted as the Permanent committee to take care of Public Parks, Triangles .and Playgrounds. Under Article 8, A motion made and seconded by the Town Bathing Beach Committee, it was voted that from here on, the Board of Public Works have complete supervision of the~ bat~_fng beach.. That present committee dissolve. The vote was unanimous and so declared that the Board of Public Works be constituted as the Permanent .Committee to have supervision of Bathing Beach. Article 9. Voted to authorize the Board of. Health to appoinb one'~of their members to the position of Board of Health Physician and that his compensation'be $750.00 for the year 19~8. Article' ld. Voted to authorize the School Committee to appo~i~ one cf their members to the position of School Physician and that his compensation be $750.00 for the year 19~8. Article 11. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of Seventy-Eight Dollars and thirty-~w~ cents ($78~30) unpaid bill for 19~7~ due to the Lawrence Plate & Window Glass Co., for repairs to overhead doors in the Street Dep~rtment Garage. Article 12. Voted to r~ai_se and appropriate the sum of Three Hundred and Eleven Dollars and Fifty Eight Cents ($311.58) to take care of unpaid bills for the. Town Infirnary for the year 19~?. Article 13. Vote~ toraise and appropriate the sum of Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000) for the purchase of a Mist Sprayer for control of Insect Pests for use in the Moth Department. Article l~. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of Nine Thousand Two Hundred and Ninety Dollars ($9,290) for the purpose of completing an engineering survey of real estate valuation of the Town. Article 15. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of Five Hundred Dollars ($500) to be used with present chevrolet car to purchase a new police car. Article 16. Voted to strike from Warrant. Article 17. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of Fourteen Hundred Dollars ($1,400) to be used with the proceeds of the sale of 01d Buick Ambulance to purchase three units of two-way radio for use the Fire and Forest Fire.Depertments. Article 21. Voted to strike from Warrant. Article 22. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of Six Hundred Dollars ($600) to be expended under the direction of the Recreational Council for instruction and supervision of children upon the playgrounds of the Town. Article 23. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum~of Two Hundred Dollars ($200) to be expended under the direction of the Recrea~onal Council, for the purchase of supplies, including handicraft and other expendible items, for the use of children, instruct~ors and supervisors on the Town's playgrounds. Article 24. Voted to raise mud appropriate the sum of Seven Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($750) to be expended under the direction of the Board of Public Works, .for the purchase and installation of equipmentfor the playgrounds of the Town, includhg one heavy d~ty Merry-go-round, one Six- swing set, one heavy duty Senior Wave Stride, and two new ~ench-type tables. Article 25. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of One Hundred Dollars ($100) as estimated by the Board of Public Works, to be expended under the direction of said Board, for the seeding of an area of the playground at Grogan's Field measuring approximately 135 feet by 85 feet, and for the provision of loam, grass seed, fertilizer, and labor for same. Article 26. Voted to raise and appropriate for transfer FROM AVAILABLE FUNDS the sum of Five Thousand Eight Hundred and Seventy Dollars .'~ean and cement line water mains in the water works system. Article 27. Voted.'to appropriate from available~funds the sum of Fou~ Thousand and Ninety Dollars and Thirty-one cents ($4,090.31')~b%i~g ~the amount of thewater department receipts in excess of water department operating expenses for 1947 to a Stabilization Fund as pro'vided for by Chapter 124 of the Acts of 1945, with the understanding that 'Lt is to be used by the Town for capital improvements in the water works system under the provisions of the above. Voted to raise and appropriate the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) for the purchase of a new Dump Truck for the use of the Highway Department, e 1939 Dump Truck to be sold and proceeds, to be turned over~ to the Town Treasurer. Article ~0. Voted to raise and appropriate 'the sum of Fi~ty-Five Hundred Dollars ($5,500) for the purchase of a No. ~0 Cletrac and Cab, to replace 12 year old tractor. Article 31. Voted to~ raise and appropriate the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000) to be used for sidewalk project; the Town to pay one-half of the expense and the applicant to pay the other half of the cost. Article 32. On motion of Mr. Dully a rising vote of thanks was .extended to the members' of the Advisory Board for their very fine report and recommendations on the subject'matter in the Warrant. Francis Roche, William B. Duffy, Edward Garvey, Carl A. Thomas, F. Milton Howard, Willimn Rock, John V. Donovan, and Alvah G. Hayes assisted.the Moderator in counting votes taken under the various articles in the Warrant. The meeting was adjourned at 6:55 P.M. Mr. Francis B.
