ARTICLE 5. To see if the Town willraise and appropria te the sum of $7,500,
by bonding, or otherwise, to beexpended under the direction cf the ~chool
Building .$ommittee f?r the purpose of updating the survey as to the future
school education and~uiSdlng needs of the Town with particular emphasis as
to future high school needs. Petition of the North Andover School Committee
and School Building Committee.
ARTICLE ~. To see if the Town will vote to appropriate $185.00 or any other
sum, and to authorize the Selectmen to enter into a contract with the
Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority to usesaid sum of any ~art thereof
tq~efray deficits of the railroad result lng from providing commuter service
from North Andover to Boston. Petition of the Selectmen.
ARTICLE 5. To see if the Town will authorize the extension of the sewer system
on. Chestnut Street from Longwood Avenue l~00 feet to the Reservoir right of
way and from a point on Sutton Hill Road 390 feet from Chesthut ~treet a
stance of 540 feet easterly under the direction of the Board of Public WorSs
the total c cst of the project to be without expense to the Town.

ARTICLE 6. To see if the Town willvote to include such elected or appointed
officers of the Town (except any member of the Board of Selectmen, or any
member of the police or fire £orce of the Town) as the Selectmen may here-
after from time to time designate, among the persons entltle~ to benefits
under the Workmen's Compensation Act, so-called~ all as provided by the most
recent amendment to G.L., Chapter ~2, Section ~9, (St-1966,c.401).
ARTICLE 7. To see if the Town will vote to amend Section 4~73 of the Zoning
By-Law by adding the following paragraph: When in or abbuting a residential
zone, the minimum lot~rea per dwelling unit shall be the larger of ~,500..sq.
ft. or 1/3 of the minimum lot area required for a single family dwelling~or,
if sewage is not available, equal to the minimum lot area required for ~
single family dwelling. Petition of Norman~.Lenz and others.
And you are directed to serve this ~arrant by posting true and attested co'
thereof, at the Town Office Building and at five or more public places in each
voting precinct,.said copies ~o be posted not more than fifteen days nor less
than ten days before the time of said meeting.

Spepial Town Meeting Held Monday Evening October 30, 1967.
ARTICLE 1. VOTF~D with the approval of the Selectmen and the Advisory Board
to appropriate the sum of $54,000 for Public Welfare Costs and the additional
sum of $1,000 for Veteran, s benefits, and that to meet said appropriation, the
Treasurer, with the approval of the Selectmen, is authorized to borrow $35,000
under C.27 of the Acts of 1966, issuing bonds or notes of the Town therefor,
payable as the emergency finance board may determine.
The vote was AFFIRMATIVE 125. NEGATIVE 5. 2/3 majority.
