I have notified and warned ihs inhabitants of the Town of North And~ver who
are qualified to vote in Town Affairs by posting true and attested copies of
this Warrant at the Town Office Building and at five or more public places in
each voting precincts of the Town. Said copies not having been posted not
less than ten days before the time of said meeting.

Special Town Meeting opend Monday evening June 5, 1972 at 7F30 P.M., with
Moderator Donald Smith presiding, 685 registered voters checked and present.
ARTICLE 1. VOTED TO REJECT the article.
" 2. VOTED TO ADOPT the article.
" 3. VOTED TO ADOPT the article.
" 4. VOTED to authorize the Selectmen to ach for it in executing a
contract between the Town and the Massa6husetts Bay Transportation Authority
to provide for railroad commuter service between North Andover and Boston
for a period of not~ more than one year and 'to raise and appropriate the sum
of $400.00 to pay the cost ~o the Town for such service.
ARTICLE .5. VOTED to raise and appropriate the sum of $5,000.00 to be expended
under the direction of the School Building Committee for the purpose of con-
ducting a study concerning the need, the construction, equipping and furnishin,
of an ice skating rink in c~njunction with and as an integral part of the con-
struction of the new North Andover High School, said sum no= =o be expended
until the School Building Committee has, by a majority vote, committed itself
to amend its present application for school cons=ruction reimbursement to
include the proposed skating rink. Such study =o be submitted =o the Town at
the next Annual Town Meeting.
ARTICLE 6. VOTED to raise and appropriate the sum of $17,700.00 to repair the
drainage problem on South Bradford Street.
ARTICLE 7..VOTED to strike the article from the Warrant.
ARTICLE 8. VOTED to raise and appropriate the sum of $4,000.00 to be expended
under the direction of the~Board of Public Works for the purpose of extending
the water main 420 feet on Beacon Hill Blvd, and Chickering Road =o Bay State.

ARTICLE 9..VOTED to raise and appropriate the sum of $1,300.00 no be expended
under the. direction of the Planning Board to cover the expenses ~ncurred in the
preparation, and printing of the new Zoning By-Laws and Map.
ARTICLE 10. Under the aforesaid Article it was VOTED to amend Article IX of its
General By-Laws having to dowith regulation of advertising signs and billbp&rds
by substituting in place thereof a new Article IX, regulating signs and
lighting, the full text of which is attached herewith.(See PaEe 136A.)
The vote for same was AFFIRMATIVE 390, Negative 129.

ARTICLE ll-A. This is to certify that by its action upon Article ll-A of the'
Warrant for the Special Town Meeting of June 5, 1972 the Town of.North Andover
voted to amend the written text of the 1956 Zoning By-Law (as heretofore
amended from time to time) by substituting, in place thereof the"North Andover
Zoning By-Law - 1972", an9 attested copy of which as it was amended and ado
by the meeting is hereto annexed. The vote of the Town upon the adoption of
the new By-Law was unanimous, except for its adoption of Sections 4.129 and
4.130 thereof, which was by a vote of 390 to 129. (See Page 136A.)
ARTICLE ll-B. This is to certify that by its action upon Article ll-B of the
Warrant for the Special Town Meeting of June 5, 1972 the Town of North Andover
voted to amend the 1956 Zonbng Map of the Town (as heretofore amended from time
to time) by substituting in place thereof the May 1972 proposed zoning map, ah
attested copy of which, as it was ammnded.and adopted by the Meeting, is
hereto annexed, The vote of the Town upon the adoption of the new Zoning Map
was by a vote of 379 to 13. (See Page 136A)
