Requested Article:
To see if the Town will vote to amend the Town of North Andover Zoning Bylaw
by deleting the existing language of Section 4.122.14 and replacing it with the
amended language which requires a filing with the Zoning Board of Appeals
with design criteria for the conversion of an existing one-family dwelling to a
two-family dwelling.
Draft Motion:
Motion to amend the Town of North Andover Zoning Bylaw by deleting the
existing language of Section 4.122.14 and replacing it with the amended
language which requires a filing with the Zoning Board of Appeals, with design
criteria, for the conversion of an existing one-family dwelling to a two-family
dwelling.
Reason(s) for Article:
The amendment requires a filing with the Zoning Board of Appeals and
imposes design criteria for the constructed dwellings. Recent conversions in
the R-4 district have resulted in concerns oversize, aesthetics and conformity
with surrounding properties. The amended language will allow the abutters to
be notified and involved in the permitting process.
