HomeMy WebLinkAboutPRESS RELEASE-2007 ANNUAL TOWN MEETING PRESS RELEASE—NORTH ANDOVER ANNUAL TOWN MEETING— MONDAY MAY 14 AND TUESDAY MAY 15 North Andover's Annual Town Meeting will be held at the North Andover High Schoo1,430 Osgood Street, beginning on Monday May 14, 2007 at TOOPM. In order to accommodate all attendees and ensure that the meeting proceeds in an orderly and efficient fashion we suggest the following: ➢ Please bring your Finance Committee report that was distributed through the Lawrence Eagle Tribune and Town Crossings to the Meeting. Additional copies and handouts will be available as you enter your location. The Finance Committee Report, updates, and the Annual Town Report are both available on the Town's website www.townofnorthandover.com. ➢ If you require any special accommodations for the meeting contact the Town Clerk's Office, 120 Main Street, call (978)688-9501, or e-mail ibradshaw@townofnorthandover.com. ➢ No Parking is allowed anywhere along the driveways of the High School. ➢ Take our shuttle bus directly to the High School from the following locations: ➢ North Andover Middle School— Off Main Street ➢ High Street Satellite — Parking Garage at the corner of High and Prescott Street and the lot opposite on High Street. ➢ Look for signs, find a place to park, and the bus will go directly to the Meeting. WE WILL CHECK YOU IN ON THE BUS, PROVIDE YOU WITH YOUR OFFICIAL VOTER CARD, AND GET YOU RIGHT IN! Buses will run every 15 minutes and run throughout the evening and bring you back to your car. ➢ A designated shuttle will bring voters on a schedule from St. Michael's Parking Lot at 5:25PM and 6:25PM, Town Hall 120 Main Street at 5:30PM and 6:30PM and then proceed to Housing Authority Locations. ➢ Election workers will conduct check in by LAST NAME in the lobby area and distribute Official Town Meeting Voting Cards. ➢ If you are not listed, please proceed to the Registrars Table for assistance. You may not be on the list because of inactivity, but every effort to reinstate voters can be easily handled by the Registrars. ➢ If you are a voter and attending with a non-voter we can accommodate you best in the Cafeteria area. Non voters must register and be given a "non-voter" pin. ➢ The meeting will be set in the Field House, Auditorium, and Cafeteria if necessary. ➢ We will have members of Boy Scout Troop to act as ushers and provide direction. ➢ Town Moderator, Charles A. Salisbury, will provide direction at the beginning of the meeting. ➢ If hand counts are required on articles, look for our vote counters. Each section has two counters (to provide accuracy and vote verification) and will be wearing orange vests. Orderly hand-count votes help the meeting proceed. ➢ All articles in the Town Meeting warrant are important to North Andover. The meeting is anticipated to continue on Tuesday May 15 at the High School. ➢ Please call the Town Clerk's Office if you have any questions or need assistance.
