Reason(s) Signature of Agent: Date: Effective 0311212014 2 Monica Casal 31 Sugarcane In North Andover, MA 01845 781-779-5400 zambonel@gmall.com i To the North Andover Conservation Commission: i Request for cutting existing trees and planting local bushes. J The wooded land in our property and on the back of our house is composed of mixed vegetation dominated my red oak.The edge of the woods is on an elevated area less than 30 feet from our house, six (6) red oaks growing on that edge have been grow!ngtowards the house(Fig. 1, marred in red).Similar trees in the neighborhood were uprooted during storms in recent years. Considering the proximity to the house and the peculiar shape and direction of growth—leaning towards the house and off the tree barycenter, we ask to cut the 6 trees marked in red in the attached picture. Removal of these trees will allow two small maple trees (Fig. 1, marked in green) growing beneath them to grow more robust. In addition, we are j planning to plant autochthonous shrubs to create a natural hedge (Fig. 1, marred in yellow) between our back yard and the woods in the back. Picture 2 below shows the area interested by this project with min and max distance from the stream(orange lines) and the area where new plants will be added (green area). The area was inspected by Benjamin Curell, Conservation Field Inspector, on June 24, 2019 and he suggested to file for a Small Project permit Category G. As an additional benefit, cutting these trees will reduce shading on the solar panels installed on our roof;therefore increasing solar electricity production and further reducing our carbon i footprint.
