Front Stairs & Walhway Replacement
Conservation Conditions of Approval,]l` ACC##261
Pursuant to section 4.4.2 (A) of the North Andover Wetlands Protection Regulations,James Lally,
applicant and homeowner, filed for a small project for work proposed at 46 Hollow Tree Lane,
North.Andover. The proposed work includes removal of faux brick tiles and handrails on the front
entrance landing and stairs and replacing them with granite treads and new handrails. The existing
paver wall�vay shall be replaced in the same footprint with either concrete or new patio paver
blocks. Construction equipment and vehicles shall be operated from the paved driveway.
During the September 9, 2020 public meeting, the North Andover Conservation Commission found
this project to qualify as a Small Project Permit and voted unanimously to approve this project as
proposed under Category"L2' subject to compliance with the conditions listed below. The project is
approved only as it relates to the Conservation Commission and any and all other approvals should
be obtained by the applicant/homeowner. All work shall conform to the following:

The following conditions ate hereby mandated:
CONDITIONS:
1. Prior to the start of construction, (3) three 4x4 pressure treated posts and the existing wetland
markers shall be installed along the edge of the 25-Foot No Disturb Zone, at the direction of the
Conservation Adrrbinistrator.

2. Prier to the start of construction the applicant shall ensure that the site contractor has reviewed
the Small Projects Permit and is aware of the wetland resource area and the limits of the
proposed work.

3. Demolition materials shall be stored outside of the 100' buffer zone.
4. Upon completion of the approved project and site stabilization,please contact the Conservation
Department for a final inspection.
5. This permit shall expire one year from the date of issuance.

Scope of Work
• Safety is the primary purpose of this project
• Front stairs and walkway are falling apart and crumbling
• Handrail on west side of front stairs in no longer secure and will not
support the weight of a person holding on for balance
• Walkway: Replace existing pavers with new pavers or concrete (there
will be no expansion or change to the footprint of the walkway)
• Stairs: Remove faux brick tiles and replace with granite treads
(concrete foundation remains unchanged)
• There will be no vehicles or equipment on the grass; just in the
driveway
