AffordableHousingTrustupdate LaurieBurzlaffpresentedanupdateoftheAffordableHousingTrust.Mr.Hollandaskedwhat theplanaregoingforward.Ms.BurzlaffexplainedthattherearetwopropertiestheTrustis lookingintoonUnionStreet.Ms.BurzlaffspokeaboutaprogramtheTrustisworkingoncalled theSeniorHomeRepair.ThisisaprogramtohelpSeniorsremainintheirhomes.TheTrust wouldassistwithroofs,heatingsystems,handicappedrampsanditemsthatwouldhelpthehome ofSeniorsthatare60yearsofageorolder.Mr.Callahanaskedaboutthe40Bunitscomingup atBoardofSelectmenmeetings.Ms.BurzlaffexplainedhowtheBoardofSelectmenhandled thefirstrightofrefusalontheseproperties.Mr.Simonsaskedwhathadhappenedinprevious timeswiththehandlingofwaivers.Ms.Burzlaffexplaineditishandleddifferentlyatpresent time.Mr.Simonsaskedaboutthefundsinthebudget.Ms.Burzlaffexplainedthatasof October2019therewere$860,237.00intheirbudget.Mr.Simonsaskedifthefundscanbeused foranythingrelatedtothehomes.Ms.BurzlaffexplainedthattheCPCfundsaremore restrictive.Mr.Roacheaskediffundswillbeusedrightawayuponreceipt.Ms.Burzlaff explainedthatlastyear’sfundshavenotbeenused.Mr.HollandmentionedthehomeonSchool Streetisonetolookinto.Ms.BurzlaffstatedFountainStreetisstillofinterest. Committeediscussionandvoteonallapplications Mr.Simonsexplainedthattherehastobe10%allocationofthefundsineachofthethree categorieswhichthisyearamountcomesto$260,000.00eachcategory.Ifallfundsarenot allocatedthenareserveneedstobemade.Mr.HollandstatedtheFieldSignswillbefundedby theDPW.Mr.Callahanmentionedtheissuesintheparkinglotsofthefields. CommitteeDiscussion: 1.RestorationofpaintingatStevensEstate: Mr.McCartystatedheobjectedbecausehewasnotsurethatitwillbevisibleforallto see.Mr.SimonsassuredMr.McCartythatitwillremainwhereitisandwillnotbe moved.Mr.Roachementionedhewouldliketoseeanassessmentdoneonitbutdoes notfeelitistoppriorityatthistime.Mr.Callahanagreedthathewouldliketoseean assessmentaswell.Mr.HollandstatedhewouldliketomeetwiththeStevensEstateto seewheretheyarewiththeMasterPlan.Mr.Gangifeltthattheyshouldwait.Mr. McCartystatedhewouldalsoliketomeetwiththem.Mr.Simonsstatedhewouldnot recommendthisproject. 2.StevensEstaterestorationofOriginalLightFixtures: Mr.Callahanstatedthefixtureswillmakeitmoreattractive.AllpresentCommittee memberswereinfavor. 3.SchofieldMill: AllpresentCommitteememberswereinfavor. 4.StevensMemorialLibraryHistoricEntranceStairways: AllpresentCommitteememberswereinfavor. 5.AffordableHousingTrust: AllpresentCommitteememberswereinfavor. 6.PlaygroundMasterPlan-AplinandStevensPond: AllpresentCommitteememberswereinfavor. Mr.SimonsaskedtheCommitteeiftherewillbeanyspecialconditionsforanyprojectsother thandecliningtheStevensEstatePaintingRestoration.Mr.Hollandmentionedrequiringeach projectgoingforwardtohaveasigndisplayedstatingthatitwasaprojectfundedbytheCPC. HewouldliketoseeaQRcodeplacedoneachsignsothateveryoneisabletoseeadditional informationabouttheproject.
