Description:
Complaint: Received a call from Amanda Flowers,tenant at 3 Elm Court,North Andover regarding mostly mold issues.
During the conversation,she revealed that she just moved out of the apartment on Saturday. She was a tenant here from March until September of 2011. However,
she wants to relay the following information about housing violations:
1.Basement-entire area is damp,and a portion of ceiling had black mold on it.Tenants used basement for storage and laundry.Tenant broke out in hives each time
she entered the cellar.
2.Living Room-1 st floor-you can smell mold
a.you can smell mold
b.spider sacs around the permimeter of the living room ceiling.Tenant,her fiance and 4 y.o and 5 mo.Old all suffered from spider bites while living here.
3.Bathroom-2nd floor-there is mold around the tub.
Landlord is Vincent Landers-When tenant called him,he replaced the basement ceiling and advised her to purchase a dehumidifier and 2 fans and keep them
running constantly to help remedy the chronic dampness,which she did. However,all of the tenants items in storage ended up being covered in mold.
Tenant is now at an apartment in Lawrence called Riverpoint.
Ms.Amanda Flowers,(now former tenant)would like a call back to follow-up on this information.Phone:978.807.6954.
I told her that the Health Department does not have jurisdiction to investigate a housing complaint once a tenant has moved out;however,upon Ms.Flowers
insistence,I told her that I would pass the information on to the Health Inspector. She is insisting on a call back.
