HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-08-17 Machine Shop Village Neighborhood Conservation District Commission Minutes Machine Shop Village Committee 8/17/2021 Present board members: Harry Aznoian, Jerry Wilson, Tim True, Justin Lafond 6:20pm - J. Wilson motions to open the meeting. Seconded by J. Lafond H.Aznoian votes to approve minutes from 8/10/21 meeting. All members vote in favor. Applicant#1 Peter Graziani 149 Main St. Peabody, MA Property address: 65 Water Street P. Graziani reviews project as discussed in prior meetings. He explains sketched plan and dimensions of project. Wall will be 1ft. X 22". Plans to construct wall and stairs out of red brick from Lowe's with 1.75" granite caps. Note that printout from Home Depot shows 3/4" granite. Stair will have a 4' landing and black, cast iron rails will replace existing. Board is open to discussion. Type of brick is discussed. Printout of brick is black and white. Photo was shown on phone. Concerns over the new, generic red brick were raised. Different styles and suppliers of brick were discussed. Applicant agreed to select a brick consistent with those of the neighborhood, but would not return for another meeting. Board members were concerned with project moving forward with no specific building materials selected. Applicant made proposal for vote. He proposed the project as-is, along with verbally agreeing to find a brick that was consistent with the neighborhood or he would replace like with like. He would not return for another meeting and would not present specific materials to the board. 7:15pm - J. Wilson motions to vote on proposal. J. Wilson votes yes, T. True votes yes, J. Lafond votes no, H.Aznoian votes no. 50/50 vote results in non-approval. 7:21 pm - H.Aznoian offers continuance and applicant declines. Cont. 7:25pm - Miscellaneous correspondence In regards to the roof of 93 Elm street, no recent building permit has been pulled. It is believed that the roof was replaced like with like, or possibly replaced prior to the assembly of the Neighborhood Conservation District Commision. 7:30pm - J. Wilson motions to end meeting. Seconded by T. True.
