LaGrasse Director of Public Health 120 Main Street North Andover, MA 01845 Re: Subsurface Sewage Disposal System Plan — 249 Rea Street (Map 38, Lot 143) Dear Brian: We are in receipt of your review of the septic design for the above referenced property dated April 12, 2021 and uploaded onto ViewPoint Cloud on May 11, 2021. Please find enclosed the following: • 3 sets of the revised Sanitary Disposal System Repair Plans • DRAFT Notice of Alternative Sewage Disposal System On behalf of Geddie Busanovich, The Morin-Cameron Group, Inc. has prepared the following responses to your comments. For your convenience the response comments are numbered in the same order and correlate to the numbered comments in your letter: 1. The plan states "All pipe to be 4" P.V.C. (SCH. 40) unless noted otherwise" on the system profile (see Sheet 2 of 2). 2. The existing building sewer is to be inspected and replaced if warranted as stated in General Note #20 on Sheet 1 of 2. The proposed septic tank is further from the dwelling than the existing tank and will require a new connection from the existing line to the new tank. A note has been added to the profile to explicitly call out the new section with specifications for construction. 3. The manhole cover over the effluent filter is shown graphically to finish grade on the septic tank detail and profile. The profile states that a "Watertight access riser shall be installed to finish grade". The same note has been added to the septic tank detail sheet for clarity (see Sheet 2 of 2). 4. General note 9 has been revised to indicate installation of a sand bed (see Sheet 1 of 2). 5. The by-pass vent will be running along the side of the pump chamber. The profile depicts the vent to scale, showing the vent invertjust below the top of pump chamber. A DRAFT Notice of Alternative Sewage Disposal System has been included with the revised submission. 7. The plan has been revised to show an area for the best feasible replacement system (leaching bed) in the event that the proposed system fails or it is determined that it is not capable of providing equivalent environmental protection (see Sheet 1 of 2).
