Re: Subsurface Sewage Disposal System Plan — Lot 3 - 116 Ogunquit Road
Dear Brian:
We are in receipt of your review of the septic design for the above referenced property dated
March 10, 2021. On behalf of Peter Breen, The Morin-Cameron Group, Inc. has prepared the
following responses to your comments. Please find enclosed 3 sets of the revised Sanitary
Disposal System Design Plan for your review/approval. For convenience, the responses are
numbered in the same order and correlate to the numbered comments in your letter:
1. The plan view (Sheet 1 of 2) has been revised to show benchmarks within 50-75 feet of
the proposed facility.
2. The plan view (sheet 1 of 2) was revised to show a foundation drain with rip-rap outfall.
3. Note 16 was added to the General Notes (sheet 2 of 2) to read "THE BUILDING SEWER
SHALL BE 4" PVC (SCH 40) PIPE WITH WATERTIGHT JOINTS LAID ON A COMPACT BASE
IN A STRAIGHT LINE AT A CONTINUOUS GRADE WITH A MINIMUM SLOPE OF 1.0%".
4. Note 16 was added to the General Notes (sheet 2 of 2) to read "THE BUILDING SEWER
SHALL BE 4" PVC WITH WATERTIGHT JOINTS LAID ON A COMPACT BASE IN A STRAIGHT
LINE AT A CONTINUOUS GRADE WITH A MINIMUM SLOPE OF 1.0%".
5. Note 4 was added to the Septic Tank Detail to show "ACCESS RISERS BROUGHT TO FINAL
GRADE SHALL BE SECURED TO PREVENT UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS" (sheet 2 of 2).
6. Note 2 was added to the Septic Tank Detail to show "ALL JOINTS, PENETRATIONS, AND
RISERS SHALL BE MADE WATERTIGHT(I.E.:TANK SHALL BE MADE WATERTIGHT)"and note
4 was added to the Distribution Box Detail to show "INLET AND OUTLET PIPE WALL
PENETRATIONS AND RISERS SHALL BE MADE WATERTIGHT" (sheet 2 of 2).
7. Note 3 was added to the Distribution Box Detail to show "DISTRIBUTION BOX SHALL BE
LAID ON A LEVEL COMPACT BASE AND ALL OUTLER INVERTS SHALL BE SET AT THE SAME
ELEVATIONS" (sheet 2 of 2).

8. Additional soil testing was conducted in the proposed system areas on April 9, 2021 and
witnessed by Dan Ottenheimer for the North Andover Board of Health. The test results
have been added to sheet 1 of 2. The test results are consistent with the previous soil
testing and no changes to the proposed system design was required.
9. The leach bed detail shows "9" LOAM AND SEED (MIN.)" over the pea stone in the Typical
Cross Section and Typical Longitudinal Section (Sheet 2 of 2).
10. A Sand Fill Specification was provided on sheet 2 of 2.
11. The perforated pipe shown on the leach bed detail has been revised to show "ORIFICE
SIZES TO BE BETWEEN 3/8" - 5/8" (Sheet 2 of 2).
