Meeting Minutes
February 7, 2022
Attending: (via Google Meet): Members ® on Strauss (chair),
Meredith Barnes-Cook (vice-chair), Jay Dowd, George
Koehler, Stan Limpert, Eitan Goldberg.
Absent: Chris Nobile, Sean McDonough
Staff Andrew Shapiro (Director of Community and Economic
Development), and Dan Beckley (Staff Planner)
Call To Order
Immediately prior to calling the meeting to order at 5:02 PM, Jon
Strauss read aloud a statement regarding the conduct of virtual
meetings and public access.
Public Comment
No public comments were received by either Jon Strauss or Andrew
Shapiro prior to the start of the meeting.
Approval of Minutes for the meeting held on January 10, 2022
George Koehler moved to approve the minutes as presented. Holly
Williams seconded. The vote was 5-0-1 in favor; motion passed. Eltan
Goldberg just joined the Committee so abstained.
Jon Strauss opened the meeting with hearty thank you to Kelly
Cormier, the Planning Board's representative to the MPIC. She served as
the Committee's first is Chair and was instrumental in setting up its
structures and procedures. Jon welcomed her replacement, Planning
Board member, Eltan Goldberg. Jon then moved to discuss the continuing
use and usefulness oft Master Plan Implementation Status Report.
The spreadsheet remains the proper place for the seven Element
subcommittees, namely Land Use, Housing, Economic Development,
Transportation, Open Space / Recreation, Historic / Cultural / Natural
Resources, and Public Facilities / Services to report their work reviewing
the 103 numbered strategies within. Some but not all were complete. Jon
called the Status Report a "first stop" for subcommittees as they report u ®
George Koehler called it "an internal working document" is then
evolves into a public document on the web site. Andrew Shapiro called it
66a living compendium of progress". Andrew Shapiro noted that he, Jean
Enright and Dan Beckley had the duty of updating the website. He
explained how efficiently they could upload news on the Elements as it
broke given it full time positions in Planning. Jon Strauss wondered
how MPICommitte members would know when the website was updated.
Holly Williams recognized the problem as well. Andrew explained he could
easily call web page changes tot attention of the Element committees
for retroactive input and edits.

Subcommittees to submitit work. All agreed that "voice" was a good
starting pointour next tine
The next meetingis scheduledr Monday, March 14 at 5:00. Andrew
Shapiro suggested si return to meetingface-to-face (with remote
option possible).
