Meeting was opened with introductions and a brief description of the
proposed project; discussion continued around the following poiats:
1. Project should be filed with Town Planning Board as soon as an
accurate site plan. with known setbacks can be submitted (application
plus submission requirements attached),
2. Project must be checked for impact on wetlands, including drainage
along highway (no construction within 100 ft. ) . A check of wetland
maps after meeting showed no recorded wetlands in immediate site
area. Conservation Commissioner will contact A. Brooks for
verification and site visit.
3. Project does not represent an increase in enrollment and therefore
will utilize existing parking to the East.
4. Building in classified as W occupancy (schools), 2C construction,
sprinklered to allow 3 stories. Area most be split in half vith 2
hour separation wall; SA proposed that in lieu of 2 hour wall at only
one side of lobby and 4th enclosed stair, 2 hour walls be placed both
sides of lobby, utilizing the lobby stair for egress since it needs
only a one hour enclosure for 3 stories, and distance to stairs at
either ead of building is within sprinklered allowable 200 ft.
Building Inspector replied that he preferred the two walls and that
details would be worked out in future meetings,

RE: MERRTM CK COLLEG8
Science Building
Dear Gabriel :
On Thursday , October 27, 1988 , BR+A attended a meebing at North
Andover 'down Full concerning the above project . ' At this meeting?
the subject of standpipes and fire pumps was dicUased . The
representative from the fire department asked BR+A to call ]aim
after the first of this week to determine whether the firs chief
will require a fire pump for the standpipe system.
Ili+A telephoned the fire department on November 2 , 1986 and spoke
with the fire chief . A mire pump will be required. To size the
fire Pump, a flow test will be needed. A flow test should be run
by someone approved by the focal water department and the fire
department at a scheduled time under the Department of public
Works supervi8lon. The cost of doing this can run between 4800 . 00
to BOOM& depending upon local conditions $ and is normally
considered survey information .
Please do not hes kate to 0all our office if there are any
questions .
Very truly yours ,
