As we discussed at the" electman's Vision" meeting in July, the issue of the gate onto ClYestnUt Street is orie that really ought to be addressed, and, perhaps, this is the best opportunity to do so- Specifically, we believe that the gate should be operrdudng normal business hours l'c-W the shopping center, n rtnally 9 00am to 9-0[gm. Based on this review, nbe following posit qts have been identified for site access wit this driveway alow: reduced traffic on Route 114 ; reduced traffic at Route M/CrQssroadn Plaza North Drive and Route 114/Crossroads Plaza South Drive intensecUions ; reduced c6iflicts and accident potentiai aL the aforementioned driveway intErsecrions KU Route U4 , improved operations (IevaL of service) at these drivewuy innersections; and reduced turning movements at Route !L4/Hillside Road . These positive impacus are significant and should be given appropriate consideration in determining the fntuve status Of He Hillside Road driveway. As outlined in previous corroppondence, there are also pooitiv: impacm associated wick clo8uvs of the driVeway. Specificlily, - i closure would likely result in reduced oraEfic along Hill8ide Road . Thew drainage calculations roust be submitted for the relocated detention pond- Information regarding the storm water management during construction will also iced to be submitted. * New traffic study must be submitted. * The parking space size requirement may change to ' x 18' at next week's town ineehng. This may help to reduce the ainount of pavement required on site. • The project will require site plan review approval from the Planning Board- Ifyou have any other questions or concerns please do not hesitate to call me at 688- 535.
