As part of its annual review of traffic issues at the site, the Planning Board solicited the opinion of the Police arkd Fire Departments on this issue- The Planning Board's decision for this project requires the Board to review the traffic Situation froin time to time slid if, in the} oard's opinion, public safetyand traffic concerns warrant, access to Hillside Road should be opened. The Police Department recommends that the access to Hillside be opeiied as there have been numerous accident on Rt.114. The access on Hillside will relieve the traffic pressures on lit- 114- The Fire Department also has no objections to opening the gate as it will provide theirs with a secondary access point. The Planning Board also recommends that the gate be left open to facilitate the trade flow in and out of the site. The gate could be closed in the morning to prevent "cut through" traffic by commuters if this is a concern. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me at 688-9535. I have attached the letter from the Police Department and will forward any correspondtmce from the Fire Department in the future. cc- ►N- Scab, Dir, CD&S R.
