(revised plan) Date: July 1 , 1985 l have the following ommmm ent to this revised plan : 1 . The building must be fully sprinkler d under MGL Chapter 148 Section 26G. 2. A fire detection system is required and this system must. be tiod into the municipal fire alarm system through master fire alarm box. 3. The developer must notify the Fire Chief prior to the razing of the existing building, 4 . Builders shall insure that, tenants notify the fire department prior to occupancy four, any additional fire protection needs . ' . F have the following comments with regnrds to this project.- Building l 1 . A full sprinkler system with Fire Department connection is required under MGL Chapter 148 Scction 26G. . A fire detection system is nequired and this system must. be tied into the municipal fire alarm system through master fire alarm box. 3 . The developer must notify the Fire Chief concerning lans for the razing f the existing uilding. Building 2 1 . This building being a place of assembly over 5000 sq, ft as described in section 1202. 3 of the State Building Code 780 CMR should also be fully sprinklered ,and have a fire department connection. 2 . In addition to my .patter of July 1 , 1985 , in view of the fact that we have just received approval for the Fire Lane By-Law; this development most have a fire lane to the front of the building from the area of the bank, to the handicapped ram and on the curb in front of the restaurant. This fire lane:: should be marked in the striped paint and a cop of the By-Law is attached. If the developers have any questions concerning thi8 matter, please contact me. William V. To see i f t1he Town will vote to add to the Town Bylaw a new section under Public Safety: Fire Lanes IUpon determination by the Fire Chief that fire raves are necessary for the protection of the lives or property of the public in an arrea to which the public has access , the owner , or the person having control of such premises, shall provide, install , and maintains "No Parking-lure Lanes" signs and striping in the location designated by the Fire Chief . 1 . It shall be mnlawful to obstruct or block a private way to an area re apparatus w ich hor public h&G other` emergencyaccess t equipment from prevent gaining access to aLny building thereon. . it shall be unlawful to obstruct or park any vehicle in any fire lane, such fire lane to be designated by the Chief of the North Andover Fire Department . 'these fire lanes to be posted and marked as each . Said fire lanes skull include a distance of twelve ( 1 ) feet' from the curb at a sidewalk or in the absence of sidewalks and curbirigs, the distance shall be eighteen ( 1B) feet from the building . These traffic regulations are enforced by the Police Department of the Town of North Andover carrying a fine of ten dollars per ticket . q. if vehicles are impeding access of emergency vehiclem, the police Department shall have the authority to tow such vehicles to a storage facility designated by the North Andover Police Department .
