This would be between 300 and 450 car washes. At a tninimum, 70% of the car wash water is recycled. Approximately 6 gallons per wash is est.iniated to be discharged, This would amount to 2700 gallons per day of discharge to the Town sewerage system. Assume a sic (6) hour day for pear flow rate purposes, the rate o discharge would be 7-5 gpm over the six hour period. "COIN-OP" V(}i.1;1ME He indicated that the 5 bay-, could use 7 gallons per cycle (air average of 2 eycles per washed vehicle). This could conceivably generate water usage oC 1400 gallons per day, based on 200 cycies per day. This would amount.to 1400 gallons per day which would be dischar cd to the sewer 3-9 gpm over a six (6) hour period - Mr_ Timothy Willett May 3 0, 2001 Page SUMMARY The estiinsted total discharge volume to be anticipated would be 2700 + 1400, or 4100 gallons per day_ Based on these quantities, it is recommended that a 7000 gal ton "recycling? taiik and a 5000 gal[on "overflow" tank should be provided_ The I "overflow" tank would be pumped out daily, during off-peak or specified times, into thec Town sewer, This would he necessary if the,Town sewerage system could not handle the total of 11.4 (say 1 Spin, during peak flow periods (weekends).
