VS Trip Gener2tion Figures
Trip gencration data from a algrcen's and a CVS obtained by Elie consultant appears consistent-
It would, however, have been preferable to have additional locations used to develop the
Pharmacy trip generation rates-
An a"urnption oC25°o pas-,by trips for this site assurning its use as a Pharmacy is also not
um-easonable.- Such an assumption for a developinent of f1}is size will not gi-cstly affect Level of
e,rvic e, (L at the site drive. Delays for vehicles exiting the site drive will still be lengthy
because of the high traffic voltiine5 on Route 114.
AM Peale Hour CnIculations
The report shows that AM Weak volumes ors both Route 114 and 125 are higher Ihan those Shown
dui-ing the so-called Midday Peak- Delays facing motorists leaving the site, in the AM Weak will
therefore be longer than those encountered during the Midday Peak. Trip generation data for th,e
AM Peak and LOS aculations should therefore have been includce l in the analysk since many
drugstores are open during the AM -Peak period.
Access to Route 125 By-Pass
It makes wrist that access front the site to the By-Pass would signif€canny reduce III nu nib er 0f
vehicles attempting to make left tunes from the site drive onto RouIe l 14- However, providing a
direct connection between the site and the By-Pass may be irupossible due to tht access corEtrol
nieuure in place on the By-Pass- This Iiinitation could he avoided if it were possible to create a
connection between the site and thc dead-end section of hillside Road- 'Traffic could then use this
roadway to reach the lay-Pass. A complicating factor in considering this latter scheme is the farts-ly
high ac:cideuj rate at [lie Hit isiJde l oad/Route 12 5 interscctioii. This issue should be e aniincd
before this access scheme is itriplctnented.
Please reel lrtee to contact nie if 1 may be of fuillicr assistance.
