Call to order: 9:00AM
Terry Kelly to discuss Cuddles Program:Discussion on the history of this government funded
the Senior Center on Friday mornings make the dolls and they get shipped out across the
country. At its peak they were at 400 RSVP programs, now down to 80 due to COVID. IE)

Royal Crest Presentation Offer for Senior Center, Larry Smith and Kathy Shelp: Royal
Crest would like to present to the board to discuss the project. They reached out directly to
Kathy. They would like it open to the senior center population, not just the COA. It would be a
s informational only. Likely, this is in effort to bolster
votes on the project. They made an offer to provide $150,000 gift to senior center. 55+
apartments to create diversity and secure housing for seniors. Jen makes the point that the
housing options are at market value and are in no way supplemented to be considered

other demographic.
There are concerns about even if this is limited to the COA, will their messaging afterwards
Vote taken, majority in favor of this meeting. Larry will work to find an agreeable time for space
availability, get back to Royal Crest, and post the meeting.
RMV Initiative, Lucius Michel:
Proposing that he does a project outline entailing: project brief, newsletter notice, script for COA staff to
describe the program accurately, set expectations, questionnaire creation, follow up emails, draft to town.
Given there is quite a bit to do, he would like to start with the project brief before we jump into data
build some questions related to the RMV into these sessions to get a pulse on interest in the idea of this
support service. The sessions will be listed in the upcoming May newsletter, there will be 4 of them. The
letter related to the RMV is prepared and ready to go out.

Bylaw and Policy Manual Updates, Dave VanArsdale:
Lucius would like to make one grammatical change. Jennifer moves to approve bylaws and policy
manual. Harry seconds. U nanimously approved.
Volunteering Efforts, Jennifer Abou-Ezzi:
Discussion on upcoming events and if we can have a booth. We may not have any materials
available for the upcoming sheep shearing on May 15, but we should have table items by August
for the National Night Out event.
Senior Center Update, Kathy Shelp:

Doing a pilot program with the Youth Center and Historical Society. 10 Seniors and 10 Youth will come
will continue to do it annually. There will also be a pickleball tournament with the Youth Center.
Draft of newsletter provided. Board discussed and reviewed logo designs, voted on favorite results
collected by Kathy.
Brief discussion on new senior housing options around Pleasant Street & E Water Street. Board agrees to
support the project through a motion by Larry. Seconded by Maria. Unanimously approved.

Discussion on how to use grant money. Potentially used for missed items in new senior center, newsletter,
mobile hair salon, and needs analysis.
