A. Kim mentioned that the Fall Festival is on Saturday,September 17 from 10am to 4pm.
Andy will follow up with e-mail to committee members in order to save the date. We
will discuss availability of members in an upcoming meeting.
B. The committee discussed the possibility of attending the National Night Out festivities at
the Middle School track on August 2°1.Alvin suggested that we look into providing a tent
and seating for people who might need a place to eat/drink. Kanthi suggested that we
create a flyer and/or a QR code for people to play Kahoot! while at our tent. Kim also
suggested that we have some item to give away, like maybe pencils or magnets. This led
to a discussion about updating our recycling-at-a-glance PDF which we can link to on the
magnet via a OR code.Andy volunteered to take a first pass at re-writing our recycling
flyer and will circulate for feedback.Alvin also suggested having a corn-hole or frisbee
game near our table.Alvin will contact police department to find out how we can
register to be at National Night Out.
C. The committee briefly discussed and agreed that we would make individual efforts to
help with the Lake Clean Up again in October.
IV. Andy gave an update on the Green Business initiative. There has not been any progress, but we
will keep this on the agenda for future meetings.
V. Kevin added a couple of new ideas for the committee to consider: 1)Adding solar to
municipal/commercial buildings in town.As part of the fact-gathering phase,we talked about
reaching out to Revision Energy to get a sense of how other municipalities have addressed this.
What are the challenges/hurdles and what are the costs associated with converting?Andy
suggested that we ask Town leaders about this issue once we do our homework 2) Kevin also
suggested that he is interested in finding out if Wheelabrator would be willing to give some of
our members a tour of their facility. We will follow up with both of these issues at our July
meeting.

VI. Andy gave a brief summary of a call he had with a representative from Bird.com,which is a
scooter/bike-sharing service that is looking to expand its locations across the country. The
general consensus was that although the idea is great, it may be better suited to major cities
versus our town per se.Andy mentioned that there is more information on the Bird.co website.
We may want to take a closer look at the program sometime in the future if more municipalities
adopt the service.
VII. Andy adjourned the meeting at 7:48p
