The BOARD C~ APPEALS held their regular meeting on Monday evening, Japery 16,
1~67 at the Town Office Building. The following me~bers were present and voting~
~w~s A. Deyo, Daniel T. O~Leary, Arthur Dr-w~, Donald J. soott and Associat$
Member Robert J. Burke. Mr O'Leary was the a8+.~ O~-~ma~ due to the ~ess of
O~ ~ Shields.
The were twelve people preseat at the meeting.

Mr. Deyo read the legal notice. Mr. Donovan and Mr. MeOarth~ were present.
Mr. Donovan spoke ~a his owa behalf. He ex~xlained that there is an exist4-8 two-
family dwelling ~n ~ne lot ~hich contains approx. 6,166 eA. ft. and the other lot
at the corner o£ Middlesex Street and Pil~A-im Street' 7,250 sq. ft. He purehased
this parcel of land in August, 1965 and spent over $~,000 in renovating the
property.
Atty. Charles W. Trembly, an ~w~diate abutte~, was strongly opposed. He stresse~
that Village Residential zome requirements are for 12,500 sq. ft. a~d these lots
would comprise of 6,166 sq. ft. for one lot which contains an existing two-f-m~y
dwelling and 7.250 sq. ft. for the vacant lot. This would derogate from the
Zcq~t~g By-Laws. There would be no hardship involved since this property was
p~rehased in 1965 and the petitioner was aware of the zcaing requiremants of the
t~m when the purehase was mede.
Henry Luad, representing the Trustees of the So. Comgre~atio--~ Church, alse
abutters, was opposed.
The follo~Aag abutters were recorded as opposed~ Mr. and Mrs. Julius Pierog,
Mr. an~ Mrs. Chureh, Mrs. Furness, Mrs. Robintoa --4 Leo C~leazsi.
There was further heated diecussiom between Atty. Tr~_mkly aud Eevin D~novaa
regarding the divisio~ of the p~oper~y. Atty. Trembly requested a copy of the
decision fro-- the Board.
Mr. Burke rode a motioa to t_-.~-_ the petitiea under advisement. Mr. Scott
seconded the motiom and the vote was u~an~uaous.
The Board then went ~-to F~cutive Sessioa.
The Board further ~iseu~sed the petitioa. Mm. Deyo ~ade a ~otiea to ~ the
petition. Mr. Burke seconded the motioa and the vote was ,m--4w~us.
The principal reasons for denyiag the petition ares
1. That no severe h--dship, financial or otherwise, will be suffered By the
applieant.
2. The requeste~ variance w~l be in suhetantial derogation fr~m the intent or
purpose of the Zosiag By.-Law.
