The Grantee $hall be responaible for the hiring Of g0108 o€fWars during thg
entire tame th4t work is being done vithin the State Highway Layout or as delmed
necessary by the District Highway Engineer. -
The Grantee shall Indemnify and sage h.armle$s the Commonwealth and tts Department
of Public Works againsc all suit', MA ms of liability of every name and nature
arising at ' anY time out of or in consequences of the acts of [he Grantee and in
the performance of the work covered by this NMI and/or failure to comply with
thn terms and conditions of this permit whath2r by itself or Us employment of
subcontractors. This permit is subject to the procurement of the necessary Town
Grant.
If it becomes necessary the Department shall place an inspector on this project
And said Inspector will be paid for under a reimbursable by the
Grantee
Taro way traffic shall be maintained at all timer during this project.
At any time during the operation of this project it becomes necessary for the
Grantee to detour traffic it shall be his responsibility to Notify the Dist:fct
Highway Engineer in writing seventy-two (72) hours in advance of this detour.
The Grantee shaii supply the District Righvay Engineer with a plan showing the
intended route of this detour along with the appropriate slgntng and the number
Of Malice Officers to be assigned to this detour. Tha Grantee shall also state
the lengah of time said detour will he Q existence and he shall have concurrence
from the area Polfce Chief ragarding this detour.
All said detours are subject to review and concurrence by the District Traffic
Engineer.
It AM be the responsibility of the Grantee to notify both this office
teiephoge number: 774-3190, ext . 15 , and the Area Maintenance Foreman (his location
is listed below) , forth-eight 08) hours in advance of starting work on this project,
The Grantee shall also notify both parties when he has completed this project .

The Grantee shall place signs and cones for the prutectlon of the workers and the
motoring public, in accordance with the approved Safety Manual on Uniform Traffic
Control Devices. and the Work Zone Traffic Control Standards and Guldelinan - USpOT -

When a snow or ice condition exists during the progress of this work, the Crantee
shall keep-the highway well. sanded to a point not less than 200 feet beyu& the
limits of the barriers and signs.
Voe bound marked MER shall trot be removed or disturbed. if it becomes necessary to
remove and reset any highway bounds then the Grantee shall hire a registered
professional land surveyor to perform this work. It shall be the responsibility
Of this land surveyor to submit to this office a statement in writing and a plan
containing his stamp and signature Bowing that said work has been perforzed.
