After seeing the high vent installed and discussing with the owner,we would like to install a bypass vent instead. The bypass vent will be run from the d-box back to the septic tank. I have attached the detail from the Presby manual for reference. Can you please confirm this is acceptable? The location will be noted on the as-built plan. We plan on performing an inspection of the vent on Monday/Tuesday when we can get onsite. Also, the bypass vent will be completed by early next week and the system will be ready for your inspection. Can you please coordinate a time for an inspection with Jim Heider(he is cc'd on this email)? If you have any questions please let me know. One thing I will ask is that you submit a sketch of what the installer is to do to comply with what the presby design manual calls for. This way we have it for our records in case any questions arise. You can draw this out and email it to me if that's easiest. Thank you, Steve [Quoted text hidden] Will Schkuta<will@morincameron.com> Wed,Aug 24, 2022 at 12:19 PM To: Stephen Casey<scasey@northandoverma.gov> Cc:Jim Heider<jimheider@hotmail.com>,John Morin<john@morincameron.com> Steve, I spoke to Jim about this already and the installation shall be compliant with the detail shown in the manual(re-attached for reference). Instead of re-drawing the detail does a summary of the critical points work? The installation shall adhere to the By-pass venting detail shown and shall include the following: • Invert of vent line shall be a minimum of 2"above the distribution box before sloping back towards the tank. This can be accomplished with a"gooseneck"connection where the vent it connected to the distribution box. • The bypass vent shall slope back towards the septic tank • The bypass vent shall enter an un-used outlet of the existing septic tank https://mai l.google.com/mail/u/0/?ik=fb8Oa9478f&view=pt&search=all&permth id=thread-f%3Al 741509090879807837&simpl=msg-f%3A17415090908... 2/3 8/24/22, 1229 PM Town of North Andover Mail-250 Abbott Street-Septic Install y - • The invert of the bypass vent at the septic tank must be above the top of septic tank. Is this sufficient? Thanks, Will Schkuta, PE Senior Project Manager THE MORIN-CAMERON GROUP, INC. Very small items were found to need adjustment and it did not warrant a whole review letter so I sent the email below to the designer. Overall it was excellent work. Please let me know if you have any questions. The design completed for this address was stellar. You should be proud. There are a few small items we identified which need attention but it does not warrant the crafting of a formal review letter so I am sending this email: • The plan indicates to install an effluent filter in the existing tank if that component is still in acceptable condition. It should also indicate to put a manhole to finished grade if an effluent filter is going to be inserted • The desired location of inspection port(s) should be identified • A Best Feasible Replacement area needs to be depicted • Lastly, I did not see DEP Forms 11 & 12. Perhaps they were submitted and not sent along to me, or perhaps they were not provided yet to the Town? Please provide them to the Town if not already submitted Have a nice weekend.
