The project is a proposed expansion of the dwelling to add additional rooms (or bedrooms)and thus needs to meet the criteria for new construction under Title 5. There are a number of approval conditions which are provided here that should be put in place both because this is new construction and also because they are proposing the use of the Enviro-septic Wastewater Treatment system. Any questions please do let me know. Need something showing this is allowed by Enviro-septic. • The house vent has to be determined by the installer if it is acceptable to be considered as a high vent for use with the Enviro-septic system. My report of today's inspection is attached. All of this was discussed with the septic system installer. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can help with the above. Please find enclosed the following: • 3 sets of the revised Sanitary Disposal System design On behalf of Derek Delaney, The Morin-Cameron Group, Inc. has prepared the following responses to your comments. For your convenience the response comments are numbered in the same order and correlate to the numbered comments in your letter: 1. The plan states "Note: All Pipe To Be 4" P.V.C. (SCH. 40) Unless Noted" on the system profile (see Sheet 2 of 2). 2. The proposed addition will be constructed on a slab foundation, therefore a foundation drain is not required or proposed. 3. The estimated seasonal high water table (ESHWT)was calculated using a gradient between Test Pit 21-1 and Test Pit 21-2. Cross section A-A' has been added to sheet 2 of 2 to illustrate a minimum 4' separation between the bottom of the soil absorption system and the ESHWT. A column showing the ESHWT calculated based on the gradient was also added to the "Presby Data" table on sheet 2 of 2. The table has been revised to maintain a 4' or greater separation from the bottom of the system to ESHWT. A gradient between test pits 21-1 and 21-4 was also analyzed but was less conservative than the assumed gradient between 21-1 and 21-2. As a conservative approach the gradient between 21-1 and 21-2 was used for the design. 4. A swale along the property line has been added and noted on the plan view (see Sheet 1 of 2). The area for conventional primary and conventional reserve leaching facilities have been bolded on the plan view. The field dimensions have been added in the callouts (see sheet 1 of 2). 6. A note was added to the plan view to call for the roof stack to be utilized as the high vent and note #21 was added to the general notes (see sheet 1 of 2). 7. General Note#5 was revised to include "(SEE SLOPING VENT DETAIL)" and a sloping vent detail has been added to sheet 1 of 2. A. The plan clearly shows the location of the proposed conventional primary and reserve leach beds. We do not believe a "prof plan" is needed or required. In addition to the revisions described above, a three-foot sand bed extension has been added to the PRESBY field and associated reserve system. This extension is required because the slope of the PRESBY field is greater than 10%.The calculations and plan details have been revised to reflect the sand bed extension which has been designed in accordance with the PRESBY design manual. We trust these responses satisfy your questions and concerns. If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact our office. Sincerely, THE MORIN-CAMERON GROUP, INC.
