Storage of Chemicals
Pool chemicals will be stored inside the new shed and according to their presoribed storage
environments, in order to ensure containment of spills.

Prior to seasonal closure. or draining of the pool for maintenance, chlorine levels will be reduced to
undetectable levels of<0.1 mg/1 i either by: I) eliminating chlorine usage for approximately
ten days to allow chlorine levels to dissipate, or 2) utilizing sodium thiosulphate or other pool
dechlorination chemicals. approved by DEP for use in watershed areas. Vllater will only be discharged
into the river rock trench on the backside of the pool:pato, which will allow further filtration and infiltration
of the water. The trench has sufficient storage to prevent any overflow of water.

Whenever a severe or 190-year storm .event is predicted, the pool water level will be drained, pursuant
to the above methods, to a level.to permit 8 inches of rain to be colleckod in the pool

Infiltration trenches will be inspected at the seasonal opening acid closing of the pool, and after major
storm events per.above. Debris will be removed, and any 'silted or clogged stone will be replaced .as
needed to maintain the design performance of the trenches.

sedimentation in the two river rock infiltration trenches.
b. River Rock trenches---$hall be inspected trice annually. Sediment and debris (including leaves) shall
be removed and disposed of in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local_laws. In the
eventthat water does not leaw the trench within.72 hours this is a sign of failure and the trench should
be repaired,including excavating and replacing stone,to insure proper functioning.

Draingkown and intenance
Prior to seasonal closure or draining of the pool for maintenance, chlorine levels will be reduced to
undetectable levels of <0.1 mg/1, either by: 1) eliminating chlorine usage for approximately
ten days to allow chlorine levels to dissipate, or 2) utilizing sodium thiosulphate or other pool
dechlorination chemicals approved by DEP for use in watershed areas. Water will only be discharged
into the river rock trench on the backside of the pool pato, which will allow further filtration and infiltration
of the water. The trench has sufficient storage to prevent any overflow of water.
Overflow Protection
Whenever a severe or 100-year storm event is predicted, the pool water level will be drained, pursuant
to the above methods, to a level to permit 8 inches of rain to be collected in the pool

quantity of water in or entering Lake Cochichewick.
In accordance with Standard 9 in the Massachusetts Stormwater Handbook a Long Tenn O&M drainage plan
is being provided to accompany the pool/patio/shed installation at the above property. The owner selected a
low-impact drainage design(river rock stone infiltration trenches) which will require little to no maintenance.
In order to dete>inine if'the river rock is functioning as designed the following inspections shall occur at least
once a year and after any storm event(37'or greater).
