STEVENS ESTATE PAINTING RESTORATION A. MELISSA MURPHY RODRIGUEZ, TOWN MANAGER EXPLAINED TO THE COMMISSION THAT THE TOWN WAS REQUESTING CPA FUNDING TO RESTORE THE DAVID NEAL PAINTING WHICH HANGS ABOVE THE MAIN STAIRCASE OF THE TOWN-OWNED STEVENS ESTATE. B. THE TOWN HAS REQUESTED CPA FUNDING OF $46,000 FOR THIS PURPOSE. C. THE NORTH ANDOVER HISTORICAL COMMISSION VOTED UNANIMOUSLY TO SUPPORT THIS REQUEST. II. JIM WEFERS REPORTED ON THE MOST RECENT MEETING OF THE TOWN MASTER PLAN COMMITTEE. 111.400 GREAT POND ROAD A.RON RUDIS, NAHC REPRESENTATIVE FOR THE 1400 GREAT POND ROAD COMMITTEE, REPORTED ON THE OPEN MEETING HELD RECENTLY TO GIVE TOWNSPEOPLE A N OPPORTUNITY TO VOICE IDEAS ABOUT THE FUTURE OF 400 HUNDRED GREAT POND ROAD B. APPROXIMATELY THIRTY CITIZENS ATTENDED THE MEETING TO HEAR POSSIBLE PLANS. C. THREE POSSIBILITIES ARE BEING CONSIDERED BY THE TOWN...DEMOLISH THE STRUCTURE- SELL TO A POSSIBLE BUYER WHO WOULD RELOCATE THE STRUCTURE - USE THE PROPERTY FOR TOWN RECREATIONAL PURPOSES. NEW BUSINESS I. THE TRUSTEES OF RESERVATION HAVE ASKED THE COMMISSION TO SUPPORT A REQUEST FOR CPA FUNDING TO RESTORE THE MURALS ON THE BALLROOM WALL IN THE STEVENS- COOLIDGE HOUSE. THE MURALS WERE PAINTED BY JOSEPH RAMIREZ. NAHC MEMBERS WHO ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE MURALS WILL SET UP A DATE AND TIME TO VIEW THE MURALS BEFORE OUR NEXT MEETING. II. RIDGEWOOD CEMETERY HAS REQUESTED THAT NAHC WRITE A LETTER TO THE CPA COMMITTEE SUPPORTING THEIR REQUEST TO RESTORE GIARD'S BARN TO BE USED FOR STORAGE PURPOSES. THE BARN IS OVER 100 YEARS OLD. I I I.CHAI RMAN POSITION A. KATHY ANNOUNCED TO THE COMMISSION MEMBERS THAT SHE FELT IT WAS TIME, AFTER TWENTY-FIVE PLUS YEARS IN THE POSITION, TO STEP DOWN AS CHAIRMAN . SHE ASKED FOR A NEW PERSON TO VOLUNTEER TO TAKE OVER THE POSITION. B. RON RUDIS RESPONDED THAT HE WOULD BE WILLING TO BECOME NAHC CHAIRMAN. STAN LIMPERT OFFERED TO SERVE AS VICE-CHAIRMAN AS NEEDED THE NEXT MEETING OF THE NORTH ANDOVER HISTORICAL COMMISSION WILL BE ON MONDAY, MARCH 6 AT FOUR-THIRTY INTHE FIRST-FLOOR CONFERENCE ROOM AT TOWN HALL.
