HomeMy WebLinkAbout2021-12-08 Machine Shop Village Neighborhood Conservation District Commission Minutes Machine Shop Village Committee 12/08/2021 Present Board Members: Harry Aznoian, Tim True, Bernard Zelitch, Justin Lafond Applicant: Avalon, represented by David Gillespie of Avalon, Francis Yuen of Avalon, and Ed Bradford of The Architectural Team 7:13pm - T. True calls meeting to order, seconded by B. Zelitch 7:14pm - E. Bradford presents revisions of the East Mill Flats plan from the prior meeting on 11/17/2021. Bradford explained the new design and its relationship to the originally approved design. Two alternates were presented, with much of the same features of the original approval. 7:44pm - E. Bradford speaks to preferences of proposed alternate B and how it relates to traditional mill buildings. Board members compared and ultimately preferred alternate A to B due to the wooden mill window pattern and window spacing. 7:54pm - Discussed window widths and how they related to the floor plan 8:05pm - Discussed the main entry and cargo doors. New proposal featured more windows and a set-back elevator and stairwell windows. Applicants prefer not to include non-working features like the cargo doors, but are willing to work with the board if preferred. 8:13pm - D. Gillespie recaps boards preference for choice A for North and South elevations and agrees to continuance. 8:17pm - H. Aznoian motions for continuance 8:18pm - Miscellaneous item 1: H. Aznoian updated the board on 178-180 Water St. Contractors are applying for compliance on window replacement. Miscellaneous item 2: H. Aznoian was asked about the committee's stance on solar. The response is that the town needs to establish a solar energy plan that the board can reference. 8:21pm - T. True motions to adjourn meeting. Seconded by B. Zelitch.
