Home My WebLink About2023-04-26 Middle School Building Committee Minutes Middle School Building Committee Meeting Minutes April 26, 2023 Present: Laurie Burzlaff,Jennifer Cronan arrived 4:18 pm,Stephen Foster,Jorge Goncalves,Joseph Hicks,Janice Phillips Owners Project Manager, Derek Osterman of Colliers,Architect Adolfo Cuevas of Mount Vernon Group and Mount Vernon Group Project Manager, Bill Peters and Mount Vernon Group Principal Jim Emmanuel—landscape architect Meeting was called to order by Committee Chair Laurie Burzlaff at 4:03 p.m. No public comment Approval of Minutes Approval of minutes of March 14,2023 meeting April 5t"2023 meeting Motion made by joe hicks second by steve foster 5-0 vote Landscape plan Plan 1 Jim Emmanuel presented 2 different landscaping plans One with a full court basketball court—near the enclosure Very shoe horned in Problems with possibly being close to freezer—freezer may be able to be moved Plan 2 Half Court Away from building More planting Still have 4 square area Mr. Goncalves asked about a more straight path increasing the amount of asphalt This area has more asphalt than current Motion made by Joe Hicks to accept site plan option 2 Second—Steve Foster 5-0 in favor of option 2 Utility Incentives Al MOU in process with National Grid that it is ok to study it Different than what was originally discussed 3 pathways for heating We may or may not qualify for rebates that is over and above this process Bid specifications Bill Peters and Al Cuevas went over plan revisions Fire separation doors Univent,carpeting,flooring through whole building There is work in each part of the building Carpeting in auditorium,curtain, handicapped lift for stage, lighting Total classroom addition on second floor Need ceiling space for duct work—drop 6 inches Phasing option 1— Kids on one side,construction on other side of wing Will need to be this way in symmes Plan 2—construction in whole wing,students put in different wing Joe hicks made motion to approve phasing option 2 as presented in diagram Second by Steve Foster 6-0 vote Bid Timeline Currently in prequalification Qualifications were due on 4/26 am 9 subs per 10 GCs Elevators will have to go out to bid again Dates are outlined in the bid materials Will set date as close to 7/1 as possible We need to be open to different phasing if there are better choices when the time comes Town Meetine 3 slides dedicated to this in CIP at Town Meeting Bill Peters suggested a 3D image of what building will look like Colored landscape plan First and second floor plan—will shrink to one slide and color them Invoices Mt.Vernon Group OPM—Colliers Online hosting site—bid docs online Motion by Joe Hicks for invoices Jen Cronan 2"d 6-0 vote Adjourment Motion to adjourn made by Janice Second Steve Foster 6-0 Vote MEETING MATERIALS: Landscape plan Bid materials
