I have marked lap the plan to show how the house, driveway, pond and septic are actually built. There is significant difference between the two. I have also attached a couple of pictures of the current state of the pond. It doesn't drain properly, it isn't located where these plans show that it should be, It is right next to the neighbors house. I would imagine they are furious as well. My second concern is the center of the cul-de-sac, I can't tell what the plan is there. It is filled with enough water that one of the children was able to swim in it. It is literally a deep pond. Over the winter it appeared to have sunk. I understand that you cannot compact on top of the tank so there was some settling, but it seems excessive. I would guess 8 to 12 inches. I concerned that they didn't compact the ground that they laid the tank on. 8- 12 inches of movement is a lot for the connection to move in the ground. Is there a person who can verify the proper inspection was done? Was it inspected? Who do I talk to about this? I would be happy to visit the site with my colleagues from the health and planning departments to help find a solution. I do believe there are issues and the pond will need to be functioning to receive a certificate of compliance from the Conservation Commission as it is part of the larger stormwater management system. I do not believe that blue pipe is part of the proposal. I also do not know the plan for the island at the end of the street but it will need to be stabilized prior to a certificate of compliance as well. Jennifer A. I can take a swing by after lunch today and take a look. Sometime between 12-2? 1 have seen issues like this at other sites and it's typically not the actual tank itself but the fill around and loam on top of it that settles after construction. The tanks are set on a compacted base with a minimum of 6"of crushed 3/4" stone that is inspected prior to the installer setting the tank and building the system. The tank is only 10'off the house and once it is installed,the fill around it and the loam on top don't got mechanically compacted so there is some settling. Being that the developer used poor loam and seeding we have water running from the front to the yard into the conservation land. Any chance the town/conservation can help force the developer to add loam and reseed the property to prevent this? I know you are coming out here this week to meet with my neighbor with regards to the retention pond next door.
