General Discussion:
Upcoming Town Meeting: Discussion related to plans for pickleball courts and general recreational requests
from town seniors. The needs assessment just came out so the process of reviewing assessment against proposal
needs to be done. Pickleball also going in at McEvoy Field next door to the senior center.
Jen passed out disaster recovery pamphlets and informed us the Board of Health to install AEDs at all the local
parks, maintained by local fire department.
Two EV chargers to be installed in the senior center, this will charge 4 cars.
Update from Kathy Shelp:
Discussion on upcoming Conference on Aging, happening in May.
Many conference programs are full or almost full. Some with waitlists.
Capacity largely dictated by parking vs room size.
Parking will be managed by staff and vendors parking offsite, allowing max spaces for participants.
Strategic planning will start in June 2024.
New per diem van driver hired.
Also looking to hire vacant part-time receptionist position.
Library book sale will take place at senior center this year. Friends group will run a concession stand. Library
also having other smaller events here as well.
Regular programming still full, and they’re repeating events to accommodate waitlist requests.
New van is here, but not in possession of it just yet. It needs to be lettered and a few other things. This one is a
10-seater. The cost of a 14-seater which was ordered a couple years ago has materially gone up in price (the
original order canceled during COVID). So the money will go back to town and a new request for a van will
need to happen.
Formal occupancy permit still pending.
Adjournment at 9:42 A.M. Joan motion to adjourn, seconded by Maria. Unanimously agreed.
Respectfully submitted, Quentara Costa, Secretary
