If applying for a waiver from Site Plan Review because of a change of use,please provide a
written request, answering the following questions:
• Is the new use permitted by the town's Zoning Bylaw? Refer to the Zoning Code
Enforcement Office—Jerry Brown
• Will there be any changes trade to the exterior of the building (additions, etc.)
• Is the parking adequate for the new use--refer to the Zoning Code Enforcement Office

Depending on the answers to the above questions, the Town Planner may be able to grant a
waiver from Site Plan Review. The waiver will be put in writing and will state that the applicant
does not need to apply for Site Plan Review from the Planning Board.

Dear Judith,
Per our conversation, I am writing to confirm my request for site plan review waiver for the property
located at 579 Chickering Road based on the following information:
■ The property will remain in its current use as general business. The site was originally zoned for
retail use and other similar business.
• The footprint of the building will remain the same and modifications made to interior only.
■ There will be no changes to the parking and/or landscaping areas.
New signage will require a sign permit from the Building Inspector.

Dear Ms. Twadelle,
According to the North Andover Zoning Bylaw Section 8.3.2.c.i, Waiver of Site Plan Review,the changes
you are proposing to the retail space at 579 Chickering Road St, will not require an application for Site
Plan Review. The waiver request is granted based on the following information:
• The property will remain in its current use as a retail business, a use which is permitted in the
General Business District, according to the Town of North Andover Zoning Bylaw section
4.13](1).
• The footprint of the building will remain the same and modifications will be made to the interior.
• There will be no changes to the parking and landscaping areas. The number of parking spaces
available in the rear of the building are adequate for this use.
• New signage will require a sign permit from the Building Inspector,
