HomeMy WebLinkAbout2024-07-16 Middle School Building Committee Minutes Middle School Building Committee Meeting Minutes July 16, 2024 Present: Laurie Burzlaff, Stephen Foster, Janice Phillips, Jorge Goncalves, Jen Cronan and Jenn Whitney. Bill Peters form Mount Vernon Group, Trey Logie and Brady Doyle from Colliers Absent: Joseph Hicks and Kate DeLisle Meeting was called to order by Committee Chair Laurie Burzlaff at 4:02 pm No public comment Approval of Minutes from 7-9-24 Motion made from Jenn Whitney seconded by Steve Foster to approve the minutes of July 9, 2024. Motion approved 6-0 vote. Construction and schedule update Graded roadway and play surface and all the way around building scheduled for Friday. Water fountains are going in. Flooring installation ongoing. Steel install of beams there is some issue with the two existing electrical rooms, the problem has been resolved as of today. Tile install of bathroom in existing building. Trey reviewed 3 week look ahead. Jen Cronan mentioned that there is no finished plumbing on the schedule Trey said it is happening and ongoing. Steve asked if any abatement issues Yes F205 (800 SF) that needs abatement. Jorge asked about power outage Trey said there are no issues expected, it is similar to a power nd outage. Hutter believes they will meet substantial completion of new wing by August 2 deadline. th January 25 is end of Hutter contract obligations. All other phases are still on track for their substantial completion deadline and the final completion deadlines. Budget Update Approximately 760K remaining in costs. Paid and unpaid amounts across budget are as expected. Total contingency of 385K left. We will discuss a memo in future meeting about what we may want to ask to have added to the scope Review updated PCO 42 There is an additional 8520 SF of asbestos abatement. Trey consulted with several hazmat consultants and estimators and the amount is fair. This is a different area so they have to set everything up all over again. Final cost is $26,414.25. The committee original approved $20,000. Need approval of additional $6,414.25 Plus additional new abatement of 800sf that was just discovered today. Motion to approve PCO 42 not to exceed $35,000 made by Jenn Whitney, seconded by Steve Foster. Motion approved 6-0. Review BDA system PCO 43 BDA system to allow fire and police to communicate with radios. Addition was owned in the contract. Due to a code misinterpretation by the architect, the exiting building was not included but should have been. Work will start immediately for a total cost of $81,331.10. Motion made by Jenn Whitney, seconded by Steve Foster to approve PCO43 in the amount of $81,331.10. Motion approved 6-0. Adjournment Next meeting 7/23/2024 4:00 PM at Town Hall.
