Picket Fence Installation
Conditions of Approval, NACC #328
Pursuant to section 4.4.2 of the North Andover Wetlands Protection.Regulations, Amy Rock filed a
Small Project Permit application toinstall a picket fence at 340 Johnson Street. Approximately 65' of
4' tall white vinyl picket fencing will be installed along an existing rock wall to protect the front yard
area from vehicle traffic on ,Johnson Street. This will be a stand-alone section of fence, and will not
enclose any part of the property. The jurisdictional wetland resource area impacting this project is the
200' Riverfront Area (R:FA) associated with an unnamed perennial stream in the Lake Cochichewick
watershed. "The entire 65' of fencing will be located in the outer 200' RPA, approximately 110' from
the bank of the stream. The fence is just outside of the 100' buffer zone associated with the bordering
vegetated wetland (BVW) adjacent to the stream. Its is also outside 100' of the buffer zone associated
with the pond just off the rear property line.
During the July 17,2024 public meeting, the North Andover Conservation Commission(NACC)
found this project to qualify as a Small Project Permit and voted unanimously to approve this project
as proposed under CategorJ' "H"fences and stone ivalls that der not alter theflou, o f sir face water, nor
alter wildlife rnovenrent. This small project is subject to compliance with the conditions listed
below.
All work shall conforin to the following:

• Small Project Application,including application checklist with supporting narrative and
attachments, dated .July 1, 2024
• Annotated Aerial Plan "Picket Fence— Plot Plan with Wetland Lines, 340 Johnson
Street" - dated ,July 2, 2024
The following conditions are hereby mandated:
CONDITIONS:
1. Prior to work commencing, a pre-construction mectin will be scheduled with Conservation
Department staff, the contractor, and the homeowner to discuss the project conditions.

2. Any excess soils from post holes shall be taken off site or distributed on side outside of the
100' buffer zone (for both the BVW surrounding the stream, and the pond).
3. Schedule a post-construction meeting with Conservation Department staff when the work is
complete to verify compliance with the approved plan.
The project is approved only as it relates to the Conservation Commission and any and all other
approvals/permits should be obtained by the applicant/homeowner,
