Meeting Minutes
August 20, 2024
Present: Laurie Burzlaff, Janice Phillips, Jorge Goncalves, Joe Hicks, Jen Cronan (remote), Jenn Whitney, Steve
Foster, Trey Logie and Brady Doyle from Colliers and Paul Louie from Mount Vernon Group
Absent: Kate Delisle
Meeting was called to order by Committee Chair Laurie Burzlaff at 4:05 pm
No public comment
Approval of minutes from 8/13/2024
Motion made by Jenn Whitney, seconded by Joe Hicks, to approve the minutes of August 13, 2024 as presented.
Motion approved by roll call vote 7-0.
Construction Update
Trey gave the update on construction. Punch lists have been distributed. MEP final inspections completed. Fire
alarm coding and testing completed tonight. The Library carpet install will be completed on Wednesday 8/21.
Boiler room feed leak has been completed. Inspections tomorrow morning. All affidavits are in hand, electrical will
be in hand after fire alarm report. White boards will be installed by Monday.
3 week look ahead now showing c wing phase 2.
We are in phase 1B moving into 1C and 2A all on schedule.
Review of Change Order 48
This is for the roof facia flashing extensions. Missed on drawings. Total cost of $29,882.33.
Steve Foster made a motion to approve change order 48 as presented. Seconded by Jenn Whitney. Motion
approved by roll call vote 7-0 vote.
Review of boiler room time and materials work
A leak was discovered under the boys locker room. Needed to be fix asap. The cost was $7,372.25
Joe Hicks made a motion to approve time and material work in the amount of $7,372.25, seconded by Jenn
Whitney. Motion approve by roll call vote 7-0.
Review curb cut time and materials work
Completed a curb cut to meet ADA requirements. The total was $9,980.81.
Motion made by Janice Phillips to approve time and material work for the curb cut in the amount of $9,980.81,
seconded by Jenn Whitney. Motion approved by roll call vote 7-0.
New Business
There are some new items that have come up that may need to be addressed before the start of school. Pam is
requesting repair to the stair treads in Carrier wing. This will be voted on at the next meeting.
Jorge is request two phone lines to be installed in rooms labeled as storage rooms (J113, J114). One Assistant
Principal will be working in stem room. The work is being done this week. Trey indicated the rough estimate for the
work is $3,000. The committee agreed this work can be done on a time and materials basis.
Networking- Mike Grant IT Director has his stuff ready to go. Work by data guys will be finishing up Friday so this
should not be an issue.
Cleaners Hutter owns the addition, the Town owns the rest of the school building. Technically the existing wing
does not have to be turned over to us until Friday but that does not leave enough time to get the building cleaned
and ready for teachers and students to return. The floors need a lot of attention. Discussion about division of labor
and who we bring in to help get cleaning/floors completed. Steve Foster will hire cleaners to come in over the
weekend to help.
Roof drains have a temporary solution for now. Work needs to be done when classrooms are not in use. The work
should be done before winter but will be hard to schedule with school in session. Trey will work with vendor on
possible solutions.
