Dear Sir:.
In connection with the plan of the Proposed Garden Type
Apartments for Roy Farr (R.C.. Pressey, Inc. Reg, Prof.. Eng.
12-i�-67 ) between Edgelawn Avenue and Chickering Road we ad-
vise you . a s, f o Vows
Eight inch water pipe is to be class 150, cement lined,
tar coated outside, seal coated inside, to be installed 15
feet from the east side of the proposed street (west and south
sides reserved by agreement with the Lawrence Gas Company) on
a firm foundation with 5 feet of cover below the finish grade
of the street.. Eddy hydrants (5" V.�O« 5� foot trench, 6 inch
hub, 2-2j inch and 1 steamer nozzle to open .eft) with slid-
ing type- gate boxes marked "WATER" on the 6 inch Mueller or
equal gate valves (to open left) on the hydrant branches are
to be installed at stations 0 + M, 5 + 0 and 1 4 0.. An 8
Inch division valve is to be placed at...station 20. We es-
timate the cost of the proposed 8-inch water main,at .13>12,000.
Connection to the existing 6-inch main on Edgelawn avenue will
be made by the Water Department upon the payment in advance of
$800. The connection -to the existing 8-inch main on Chicker-
ing Road is to be made to the existing 8-inch main on the West
side of Chickering Road. To rovide adecuate fire tec __ �

trio s project the 8-inch water main on the east side of Chick-
ering Road is to be connected to the existing water main at
Dufton Court. We estimate the cost of the above connections
on Chickering Road at sj'p12000. This work may be done by tho
sub-division contractor after receipt of a perforxciance bond
'or the water main connections and road repair and �100,000

The 1.0-inch sanitary sewer as shown is to be vitrified
clay L"J.edge-lock or equal, sewer pipe laid to line and grade In
6-inches of screened gravel. Four hundred pound manhole frames
and covers, with 24-inch diameter covers marked "SMER't are to
be provided.- Maurice Concrete Products or equal.. rea nforced con-
ore,te manholes are to be installed as shown on the plan except
e manhole at station 5 0 3s to be relocated at station 6 +
and a new manhole installed at station 5 + 25. This will
provide proper spacing for sewer maintenance . We estimate the
cost of the sewer at q$,12,000..
The water and sewer installations are to be satisfactory
to the Superintendent of Public Works . More detailed specifi-
cations will be available as required.

. P.S'.. We find that this oan also be accomplished by connecting
the existing dead ended water main on Chickering Road to the
existing water main on old Village Zane by means of a present
oasement from Odd Village tane to Chiakering Feud. We estimate
this will. cost "� 3800.
