HomeMy WebLinkAbout2025-04-02 Old Center Historic District Commission Minutes North Andover Historic District Commission Meeting Minutes April 2, 2025 Present: Ryan Schruender, Michael Lenihan, Roger Lawson, Leslie Frazier, Lisa Roberts, Laurie Belsito The meeting was called to order at 6:02 p.m. in the Select Board Meeting Room at Town Hall. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Continued Public Hearing— Certi icate ofAppropriatenessefor Old Stage at Town Common Laurie Burzlaff,Assistant Town Manager/Director of Operations presented three samples of stone options being proposed for use around the exterior of the stage. She specified that they would be using real stone and not veneer as originally planned. The commission members reviewed the options and agreed that one out of the three would match the current aesthetic best due to its close resemblance to fieldstone used in the remainder of the old Essex St. bridge located nearby. R. Schruender took a picture of the stone and planned to attach a copy to the commission's sign-off L. Frazier asked about the impact this project would have on the nearby trees, particularly to the root systems since they would be susceptible to the impact of driving heavy equipment in the area. L. Burzlaff responded that the workers would be told to be careful of this. There was agreement that this was the last item that needed approval from the commission for this project. Approval of Meeting Minutes from 2119125 M. Lenihan called for a motion to approve the minutes from the meeting on February 191h, 2025 and L. Frazier seconded the motion. There was unanimous approval. There was general discussion about the drafting of a letter to businesses in the district regarding unapproved signs. More discussion followed on an event the Historical Society is putting together involving a tour of Revolutionary War-Era properties. The meeting was adjourned at 6:33 p.m.
